Creates the software that controls machines that move, see, lase and sense with high precision (microns) and speed (meters per second). Contributes software development expertise as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers focused on developing cutting edge technology in an innovative and fast paced environment. Works directly to support projects, customers, and platform development efforts within China.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
? Develops software applications, real-time systems, and customer specific factory automation integrations.
? Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
? Consults with development engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
? Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
? Supports software deployment and localization within China and greater Asia.
? Consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's or Master's Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline; with at least 4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with machine and factory automation is preferred.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a significant amount of experience creating systems with Managed Code (C# .NET) and Native Code (C++ on Windows.) Must have a significant amount of experience contributing to complex and large software systems as part of a team using source control.
Other Skills, Abilities, Qualifications
Very good object-oriented design skills.
Experience writing high reliability software for demanding customers.
Fundamental Engineering Knowledge (basic physics, calculus, problem solving)
Excellent verbal and written communication in Chinese
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to travel within China, and sometimes internationally, on short notice in support of ESI systems. Travel may be expected up to 25%.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, high tech environment.
