Job Background

CAT Industrial Power System Division has planned significant growth on production volume from 2012-2016 at its Perkins Wuxi plant. There is an urgent need to confirm that our supply base also has the capacity and capability to ramp up with our plant to the targeted production level year over year. As part of a global effort, a “Supplier Capacity Analyst/Engineer” position is created to analyze, forecast and monitor the Sales & Operations Planning, Executive Production Program components demand for the Wuxi plant vs the supplier base capacity, both local and global.

Job Description:

1. Regularly compares short term Sales & Operation Planning demand vs China suppliers’ capacity. Monitor suppliers which are of relatively high risk. Spot potential capacity issues months in advance and report to management for corrective actions.

2. Owns and maintains a local Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) process. Derive partnumber level annual component demand forecast driven by Caterpillar engine Executive Production Program(EPP). This 5-year parts forecast will be used by Global Purchasing buyers, supplier development engineers, and process control engineers for them to work with their suppliers on capacity planning.

3. Work with Supply Chain group’s Supplier Performance Engineers to summarize and update the capacity and allocation for each supplier production process.

4. Use IPSD’s capacity model to run different simulation scenerios for plant engine manufacturing, identify material needs from global suppliers, and communicate to IPSD global team for components support.

5. Provide support to IPSD global supplier capacity planning team and material support to global plants production as needed.

6. Collaborate with PPST supply chain to support production as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Proficient data analysis / compilation skills using Excel, PPT etc.

2. Working knowledge of Cat CBS system, demand, material planning or related.

3. Good interpersonal, communications, teamwork and collaboration skills.

4. College or university degree in a supply chain-related discipline or equivalent

5. 3 years work experience in supply-chain related industry is required.

6. Fluent in written and oral English, experience working with WW teams.

7. Limited travel (up to 25% of travel time)
