Job Description and Qualifications:
This job position is to perform and lead machinery engineering work and vendor document review, technical verification, QC inspection and installation/ commissioning support for all AP Asia executed ASU, GGS, HYCO, Chemicals and Electronics projects. This position will require a relatively senior level engineer who has good experiences on large compressors, turbines, pumps, cooling towers, etc. engineering work and is capable to provide proper judgment in reviewing vendor's technical documents and design drawings. He/she is also expected to check and approve documents prepared by other machinery team members in Shanghai and provide necessary coaching.
Principal Accountabilities:
? Being a key team member and a leader in providing large size machines such as centrifugal/ reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, cooling towers, air cooling condensers, pumps, silencers etc. engineering work services to project.
? Lead engineering specification preparation, data sheets, technical evaluation, bid conditioning, review and approval of vendor design calculations, fabrication drawings, performance testing document, Inspection & Testing Plan (ITP) etc.
? Lead and support machinery equipment local sourcing activities within the region.
? Work with QC lead to perform critical holding point inspection during fabrication, installation and commissioning phases, co-ordination with QC inspectors and engineering disciplines within the company, resolving problems during engineering and fabrication stages.
? Build and maintain close connection with Global Machinery community, share the best practice, resources, and technology.
? Support PDE bids and estimates
? Provide required machinery engineering support to other engineering offices in Asia.
? Leader in problem solving and continuous improvement
Recommended Skills and Experience:
? BS Degree in Rotating Machinery, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical/Mechanical Engineering with at least 5-10 years working experience on centrifugal/ reciprocating compressors, blowers, steam turbines, pumps, silencers, cooling towers, air cooling condensers etc in Air Separation, Oil & Gas, or Petrol Chemical Industry with increasing responsibilities over the years
? Must be fully conversant with internationally recognized codes API, ASME, TEMA, IEC, etc. Familiarity with the requirements of local China codes is highly essential.
? Very good knowledge and experience in inspection of rotating machinery fabrication quality and its performance testing procedures and evaluation.
?Proven experience on sound engineering judgment and problem solving skills in the field of turbo machinery.
? Strong leadership, communication, teamwork and influence skills. Must be able to speak and write in English fluently and be capable to interact with people from US, Europe and Asia.
