Senior Research Scientist in Optical Engineering.
Position Summary
This person will be responsible for the design, analysis, development and testing work for optical components and systems as well as leading research project in the related areas
Specific Responsibilities Include
？ Optical system R&D, from concept to IP generation, prototyping, and production.
？ Modeling in Zemax, CodeV, and/or FRED.
？ Design and build lab experiments to validate optical system designs and compare with theoretical models.
？ Selection of optical components including light sources, lenses, mirrors, and sensors.
？ Work closely with mechanical engineers/electrical engineers/software engineers to ensure system functionality and manufacturability.
Required Experience And Education
？ A minimum of 8 years of optical experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 5 years with a Master’s degree; or 3 years with a PhD;
？ Solid understanding of aberration theory, lens design, diffraction, and radiometry.
？ A deep understanding in optical instruments, such as Raman, NIR, FTIR and other analytical techniques.
？ Experience in optical component and subsystem characterizations in lab environments.
？ Design of complex optical sub-systems and systems.
？ Ability to design and perform design of experiments related to optical instrumentation.
？ Must be a proactive self-starter, excellent communicator, good team player & leader and creative problem solver.
？ Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English.
Desired Experience
？ Optical system design in Raman, FTIR, or other optical instruments.
？ Application experience/understanding in analytical spectroscopy is a strong plus.
