Most important tasks and responsibilities:
This expert specializes in part design for high performance stampings and stamping tool optimization. This expert offers specific expertise relative to stamping process selection and high precision stamping tool design. Additional expertise in standard plating processes is also desirable. This expert will develop our stamping supply base in Asia with a specific focus on Chinese suppliers. Specific skills needed include:
? Knowledge of basic & high production stamping processes.
? Knowledge of the different stamping processes such as progressive stamping, transfer stamping, multi-slide forming, fine blanking, coining, deep drawing and forging.
? Knowledge of stamping equipment brands, types and controls.
? Knowledge of stamping tool types, materials and coatings.
? Knowledge of raw material types, their form and stampability.
? Knowledge of measuring equipment types for stampings.
? Knowledge of cleaning systems types.
? Knowledge of heat treating methods for materials.
? Knowledge of typical plating systems for stamped materials - experience in wire-bonding plating systems is desirable.
? Ability to interpret print tolerances and stamping feasibility.
? Ability to investigate, audit and develop suppliers.
? Ability to work with suppliers on cost, quality, and performance improvements.
? Provide knowledge and support to others with regards to stamping, material selection, engineering changes/deviations, etc.
? Work with and communicate effectively with global regions including Mexico, Holland, and Japan, as well as with suppliers.

Educational requirements:

? Minimum Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in Engineering, or Materials Science. Experience in an industrial setting developing and testing products sold in the market.

Additional requirements:

? Demonstrates excellent communication skills with the verbal and written skills necessary to document process, procedures and other operational information that will be shared internal to the global organization and to our outside machining suppliers.
? Familiarity with quality systems: ISO9000 or TS16949
? Certified TS internal auditor / program manager experience is preferred.
? Should be a problem solver.
? Should be a self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision.
? Should have hands on capability with a fundamental knowledge of stamping mechanics.
? Should have working knowledge of basic statistics, DOE techniques, SPC.
? Needs to be able to document results, improvements, findings, and report information to design engineers from several sites around the globe.
? Strong teaming and communication skills.
? Global travel is required, as needed. Typical travel is 2-4 weeks per year at a week at a time. Overseas stays can be as long as a couple of weeks, but are typically less.
? About 5 Years of related working experience.
? Good English language ability in reading, writing and speaking.
