Report to: Farm Manager
Location: Qihe, Shandong
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
. Oversee farm operations in the absence of the Farm Manager
. Oversee individual farm work streams in the absence of their Supervisor direct and control these work streams including but not limited to Feeding, Milking, Effluent, Equipment Maintenance, Calf rearing
. In the absence of the farms Technical Assistant, operate feeding systems/Feedwatch to ensure stock are fully fed and daily KPIs are met.
. Organise and lead both Corn Silage and Corn Stalkage harvest including but not limited to staff overtime, field harvest order and machinery hire
. Track actions that come out of weekly operations meetings reporting back to Farm Manager progress and any additional actions that need sign off.
. Work with supervisors in identifying efficiencies in workforce head count and reducing overtime
. Manage daily flow of Permit to Work (PTW), tracking data and conducting monthly PTW audits
. Working with the farms Technical Assistant manage the Risk Management Program (RMP) ensuring it is kept current, with forward planning showing key dates for tasks to be completed to ensure maximum FSOE2 audit score is achieved.
. Responsible for keeping farm tidiness to an acceptable level as directed by the Farm Manager and enforcing and monitoring the farms 5s plan.
. Take all practicable steps to ensure health and safety performance objectives are met, and compliance with HS global framework.
. Work with the Farm Manager and the China Farming team to move the culture from a Compliance mindset to a team committed to world class safety practices and behaviours
. Participate in appropriate people management processes as required by JV

. Cascade company strategic direction, inspire and motivate teams to achieve the required performance and work together towards clear team and individual goals that deliver the business plan
. Through recruitment, coaching, development, performance management, talent and succession planning, build the people capability required to deliver sustainable performance
. Lead and role model our values and behaviours
- Health & Safety Accountabilities – People Manager
. When a team member is injured, the manager will be required to manage in conjunction with our insurers the injury management, compensation and return to work processes.
. A manager will report and manage the outcomes of any incident.
. A manager will lead and participate in Health and Safety activities such as Health & Safety walkarounds, hazard identification and risk assessment processes in line with Company procedures and processes.
. A manager will comply with responsibilities as detailed in the Health & Safety management system.
. The manager will identify and report all hazards and incidents.
. The manager will participate fully in the Health & Safety improvement process.
. The manager will co-operate fully in any injury management process to ensure full participation in the workforce after cleared fit for duties by a registered medical practitioner.
- Food Safety and Quality Accountabilities– People Manager
. The employee will be familiar with and comply with all aspects of company’s food quality systems, policies and processes.
. The employee will identify and report all food safety and/or food quality hazards or breaches.
. The employee will report any instance of suspected and/or confirmed contagious/infectious diseases, which has the potential to implicate food safety, including any instance of vomiting, diarrhoea, or blood borne infections. This includes, but is not limited to, any local regulatory requirements.
CERTIFICATION/QUALIFICATION
1) Education
. Essential: Farm Management Qualification;
. Preferred: Agricultural degree.
2) Technical/Functional Expertise
. Essential: Computer literate;
. Preferred: Bi-lingual (English and Mandarin).
