POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for purchasing materials and supplies from vendors. Analyzes quotations received and deals with all day-to-day transactions according to defined guidelines. Develops and implements supply base strategy for Closures & Mirrors in assigned commodities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Develops and implements commodity strategy in assigned commodities.
? Evaluates supplier cost structure to obtain best overall value on behalf of Closures & Mirrors.
? Assists divisions in establishing supplier Long Term Agreements and supplier giveback terms for all components assigned to him/her.
? Assists divisions in the coordination of Supplier Survey in conjunction with supplier quality team.
? Coordinates supplier development, consolidation and reduction programs.
? Liaise with divisions, to coordinate cost savings initiatives, and off-shore sourcing based on requirements.
? Leads cost savings initiatives with negotiation, alternate sourcing strategies and qualifying potential suppliers.
? Within a given commodity, assure purchasing leveraging is optimized by providing oversight of the consolidated buy for all the divisions.
? Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION
? Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related discipline; Master's preferred.
? Minimum five years automotive purchasing experience. Commodities including but not limited to: Plastic, Gear, Resin, Connector, Foam/Rubber/Gasket, Assembly.
? Ability to deliver results.
? Ability to influence others and gain alignment on direction.
? Must be computer literate and have experience in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
? Highly developed time management and follow up skills and the ability to multi-task.
? English communication, excellent presentation and negotiation skills are essential in this role.

? Familiarization with local market, parts and Magna requirements
? Target driven, self-standing definition of necessary steps
? High motivated and good communication skills
? International business experience, open minded, reliable, experience on the job, managing skills
