Objectives:

In support of the implementation of the strategic business unit strategy, provide technical service to BASF Polyurethanes (ChongQing) Co. Ltd’s customers, lead any product and application development activities which may be appropriate in response to general market and specific customer needs, closely communicate with the production team to assure the performance of BASF Polyurethanes (ChongQing) Co. Ltd’s products and support their efforts to enhance plant operations, and support marketing activities and market development and planning.

Main Tasks:

• Provide technical support to customers by providing them with pertinent product and material safety data, helping them to use products properly and optimally, solving any technical problems they may have encountered in using products, and addressing any complaints of a technical nature.


• Visit customers to understand their specific and general market needs, and share this information with the sales & marketing team and the technical community in Asia and other regions as appropriate.


• Lead or participate, as appropriate, in the development and launch of new products and applications for existing products based on feedback from customers on their needs or market trends.


• Organize technical seminars and workshops to introduce and promote products.


• Analyze and compare the properties and performance of competitive products, and share this information with the sales & marketing team and the technical community in Asia and other regions as appropriate.


• Stay up-to-date on polyurethane application technology, and share such information with the sales & marketing team and the technical community in Asia and other regions as appropriate.


• Collaborate with the production, quality and logistics teams to assure and continuously improve product quality.

Requirements:

• University graduate with a chemistry or polymer science degree or equivalent.


• At least 5 years’ experience in a technical service or research & development role in the chemical or a relevant industry


• Fluency in both Mandarin and English and literacy in personal computing (e.g. Microsoft Office)
