Love the Web? We are looking for a strong web site manager to grow & develop the China Office.com business.
Required Core Skills:
? Demonstrated results running a website, ideally in the ecommerce sector.
? Ability to think strategically about business investment areas & build operational plans to realize those strategies.
? Partner effectively & proactively with a diverse & distributed set of stakeholders.
? Ability to work independently, and in a different location than your manager.
Note: this position is to be based in Beijing China.
Office.com [http://office.microsoft.com/zh-cn] is part of a network of 60 sites worldwide, serving 138 markets. It provides high-quality user assistance, training, templates, images, partner information & free downloads to customers in 43 languages. It also serves up Office trial experiences and is an entry point to online purchases and subscriptions.
We mirror the UI, design, content, and services direction set by our US site team, while customizing our international sites with market-specific content, merchandizing, and programming. We work closely with our Services & Assistance and global Marketing teams to ensure tight integration with global & local priorities.
The Site Manager is directly accountable for:
? Defining & maintaining a high-quality online experience based on deep market & customer understanding with specific emphasis on merchandizing content, editorial & search curation, and overall customer satisfaction.
? Growing market reach via cross-network editorial programming & search engine optimization, etc.
? Working with local stakeholders to support the local business in line with our global investment areas to ultimately drive sales & subscriptions.
? Representing the interests of various online customer segments within the local market.
The right candidate will have a deep background in engaging customers on the web in e-commerce or otherwise transaction-focused environment. They’ll have the ability to work across organizations and disciplines to accomplish business goals and project deliverables. They will be well versed in using data and customer insights to effectively merchandise and enable discoverability of product and content inventory.
In this position you will be expected to create and contribute to forward-thinking plans for the China market. The candidate must be a highly-motivated self-starter and have the ability to think strategically about business issues; understand new technologies and their benefits to end-users. They must also synthesize large amounts of information into crisp recommendations; present and defend these recommendations to a variety of audiences, including senior management.


Core Responsibilities:
? Deliver a 12-18 month strategy & operational plan for the China site that significantly evolves the impact of Office.com on Customer Satisfaction & Revenue. These plans need to demonstrate the opportunities & impact of the investment areas on our core business metrics.
? Use their expertise of the China Market along with customer intelligence to influence the strategy & direction of Office.com. This might include updates to content plans or drive a novel customer experience for education, small business etc.
? Deliver locally relevant editorial merchandizing & search curation projects.
? Ensure the customer journey to purchase, a.k.a. “funnel” is barrier-free, and optimized for the market.
? Evangelize of the Office.com business with the Office Marketing team & other key stakeholders in China to drive impactful joint projects for the local sub that are in-line with our global priorities.
? Evaluate key partnership & solution opportunities in conjunction our Business Development team.
? Measure & report out on a predictable rhythm. Demonstrate their impact & alignment with key priorities.
? Build and leverage strategic relationships with subsidiary stakeholder & Marketing teams in China and across the Office.com organization to deliver on key business strategies.
? Provide thought leadership to the Management team on key investment areas for the future.
Qualifications & Education:
Required:
? BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Technical communications or a related discipline, together with a Business qualification or equivalent business experience.
? 5+ years of experience producing and maintaining websites, ideally in the ecommerce sector.
? Fundamental understanding of customer activities, satisfaction drivers, and the ability to balance short & long term priorities.
? Demonstrated experience in Ecommerce, merchandizing and/or digital marketing.
? Excellent analytical, communication and decision-making skills.
? Proven customer focus, advocacy and understanding.
? Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the complex business issues & produce actionable operational plans to align with these strategies.
? Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and collaborate well with others.
? Very strong oral, written and presentation skills.
? Passionate, able to deal with ambiguity, able to drive for results.
? Entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a remotely managed environment
? Fluency in English and Chinese.
Desirable:
? Experience working within an international organization
? Familiarity with funnel analysis, tagging, and other Internet-based technology
