Justification for This Position:
To keep own quality personnel at Valmet. Practical work at suppliers’ site, not in the office.
Job Description (Main responsibilities):
1. Create quality control plan for purchasing projects
Continuous on-site inspections, provide process inspection reports and final reports
Make final decisions and work out regarding documents in quality database
Figure out solution to quality problems with suppliers
Handle quality claims, make corrective action plan with suppliers and follow up
2. Check and approve suppliers’ quality documents, e.g., certificate of raw material, dimension report, NDT report, painting report
3. Monitor marking, packaging of projects
4. Supervise project progress and delivery
5. Make explanation to suppliers according to Valmet’s requirements and drawings
6. Communicate with internal customers and clarify unclear specification to suppliers
Other Information, comments, etc.:
Must be ready to travel and stay at suppliers workshop continuously when it's needed. This person will be "ear” marked to P&E projects. In case of no P&E projects then he / she will work based on needs from PAP or SER.
Competence Profile (Experience, knowledge, skills and capabilities essential to this position):
1. Several years experience of inspections for welding / machining / casting parts
2. Familiar with different kind of inspection tools. eg. micrometers, dial indicators.
3. Ready to do independent work at suppliers workshop.
4. Strong person towards the supplier when it's time to make a decisions.
5. Good written and spoken English.
6. Practical workshop background is plus.
7. NDT experience and valid certificate is plus.
