Essential Responsibilities
1. Meet or Exceed Annual Sales Goal - Through direct customer contact or through selective channel partners increase sales (deeper and broader penetration) within defined named accounts by creating value to customers for our solution footprint.
2. Actively Grow Pipeline - through the use of coordinated activities with commercial & target marketing and through your own initiatives grow and maintain a pipeline ~2-3 times your cumulative account quota. In addition to tracking a 12 month rolling pipeline, account Managers need to maintain a 36 month account plan that will be shared with parts of our business including commercial marketing, target marketing, product marketing, and the development teams to ensure coordination across the business.
3. Support new Initiatives at Named Accounts - Aggressively adopt new initiatives, programs, webinars, seminars, and campaigns within named accounts to support growth, Develop channel partners.
4. Opportunity Tracking - Identify and initiate steps in sales cycles for products, potential services, and training. Monitor opportunities, through the GEIP sales process and make sure SFDC is updated. Be responsible for accurately forecasting opportunities in SFDC including the coordination of account activities on a regional, national or global level. Account Managers will also be responsible for leading deal review as part of ongoing pipeline and QMI reviews.
5. Review Active Opportunities - as part of regular sales reviews, discuss active opportunities, overall pipeline, and next steps towards closing opportunities in most profitable manner.
6. Increase Marketing Awareness by working with the Channel Manager to identify various channel partners (distributors and solution providers) that will benefit from assistance in demand generation activities. Participate in local or regional events as required to support sales growth. Share information with selective channel partners to increase and broaden penetration.
7. Work closely with Application Engineers Account Managers will need to work closely with the Application Engineers to coordinate account activities that aide in developing opportunities and closing sales. Some of these activities include conversions, proof of concept pilots, on site discovery activities, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements
1. At least 8 years experience in automation product sales, especially PLC/HMI, with experience in managing opportunities using a formal sales process along with detailed knowledge of verticals or applications, such as power, environment protection, subway etc.
2. Working Knowledge of MS Office based products
3. Working knowledge of CRM systems for pipeline and opportunity management
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Characteristics
1. Experience in closing large (>$500k) opportunities a plus.
2. For SW BDM, software knowledge is required.
