Job Description

1.Position will focus on bringing existing parts and specifications in line with requirements, provides technical direction and guidance to supplier. Assists in executing supplier selection and qualification processes and works closely with Global Commodity Management.
2.Must be able to identify second sources to mitigate risk in the supply chain.
3.Drive sourcing savings by 2nd source/localization.
4.Support Global Commodity Manager, Supplier Development Engineer on supplier Quality issue from the perspective of technical
5.Ensures compliancy of quality, regulatory and customer or industry standards to align with supplier.
6.Maintains the Material Master (MPN, change order and PCN) and verifies adherence by our contract manufacturers.
- Maintains the Agile system with supplier and component information
- Ensures maximum supplier sharing between Tellabs and our contract manufacturers

Qualifications - Minimum Required

1.Possesses expert/focused technical knowledge of commodity family(s) ofoptical components, both active and passive, including WSS, isolators, VOAs, Triplexer/Diplexer, couplers, lasers and transceivers.
2.5+ years of direct experience in representative commodities, preferably specializing in the manufacturing Engineering or design Engineering area.
Able to investigate technical issues to assess and mitigate risks and make recommendations.
3.Experience with Oracle/Agile PLM is desired.
4.Must speak and write fluent English.
5.Activities are self-determined and involve the assessment and resolution of complex problems at the project/functional level.
6.Considered a subject matter expert in a particular field of engineering.
