PURPOSE OF POSITION
To order designated product from company manufacturing units and coordinate the timely inflow of product to meet subsidiary marketing and sales plans whilst managing inventory levels to meet business objectives.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Control
- Support Country teams in demand forecasting and planning by providing all relevant inventory information and recommendation while utilizing historical sell-through data.
-Quota Management – coordinate the spread of incoming product over 12 months to meet sales & marketing objectives whilst achieving inventory targets and Financial Governor.
- Coordinate product availability. Analyse marketing and sales plans and liaise with shipping to ensure volume and timeliness of receipts maximize order fill rates.
- Liaise with Mattel sources to ensure product is available in time for product launch and other promotional plans and minimise out of stocks.
- Take action to eliminate delays or over-stocks and ensure adherence to sales/marketing plans.
- Liaise with Subsidiary Planners to review opportunities with regards to alternative sourcing of product via CIT’s.
- Coordinate quota review meetings and liaise with sales and marketing to identifying differentials between product availability and sales forecasts. Initiate corrective action.
- Monitor inventory targets on a monthly basis by measuring KPIs for the monthly report.
- Identify shortages in avails versus Sales Plans and coordinate allocation requirements.
Production Planning/QA
- Liaise with Mattel & Non Mattel manufacturers to coordinate production schedules.
- Determine production start dates to ensure quota spread and product availability meets requirements.
- Monitor production issues such as capacity, minimum order quantities (MOQs) or lead times that conflict with plans and communicate to marketing and sales.
- Support country teams in ensuring all main line products are in compliance with relevant country safety standards and initiate a request for a Certificate of Compliance from source.
Corporate Inter-company Transfer (CIT)
- Where demand exceeds supply from regular sources, liaise with Subsidiary Planners to determine alternative supply.
- Liaise with finance to determine cost and validity and arrange for shipment to relevant markets.
- Where supply exceeds demand and production cannot be cancelled, liaise with other affiliates to transfer product.
Available Beginning Inventory (ABI)
- Reconcile beginning inventory and incorporate all ‘In Transit’ information to compile the Available Beginning Inventory for year-end reporting.
- Ensure carry-over inventory is either included in sales plans or transferred to closeout status.
Non-Mattel manufactured product (LOCAL)
- Ensure that locally manufactured/co-packed product is incorporated into inventory control processes above.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Education:
Degree in Logistics or related business discipline an advantage.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Experience in Production Planning/ knowledge of Supply Chain preferred.
- Highly computer literate, including experience with spreadsheet pivot tables.
- Fluent in spoken & written English
- Good Communication Skills: Listens, speaks and writes effectively.
- Sound Analytical Skills: Quickly and accurately evaluates information; is logical and methodical.
- Creative Thinker: Able to develop creative solutions and think laterally.
- Effective negotiation skills.
