DSM – DISTRIBUTION SALES MANAGER


Job Description:

As part of the sales team, you will be located within a major market and serve as the primary contact for Micron distributor’s branches within the assigned territory insuring the alignment between local and corporate objectives.

Working together with the Micron Business Units and Regional Sales Managers, this individual will develop a communications network that will provide the essential information to increase design opportunities for Micron product and technologies (NOR, NAND, eMMC, RAM). The Distribution Sales Manager is responsible for driving the business results of the distributor branch within the territory.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own the creation and execution of the Distributors Sales plans for their assigned territory. Elements of the Distributors Sales plans include, but are not limited to, the revenue and design win budgets, branches reviews and QBR’s, and the deployment of Distributors specific programs

· Own all of sales and marketing plans and activities with covered distributors, including distributor goal setting and performance management and implementation and execution of the distribution programs and initiatives.

· Own the distributor account plan and communicate Micron's strategies and roadmap. Develop a clear understanding of Micron's business practices including pricing, forecasting, terms and conditions, distribution and code of ethics.

  • Lead and coach the Micron and distribution resources in the territory assigned.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the assigned markets, and drive high level of engagement with Distributors and Sales Representative with the focus to discover and win new memory opportunities.
  • Proactively align with Distribution sales team on existing accounts and securing new business. Identify and track largest design opportunities from concept to production, utilizing all Micron resources to assure greatest potential for success.

· Provide positive leadership to meet and exceed the territory’s Revenue target.

· Provide ongoing close-loop feedback between Micron FAEs Distributors Sales, Micron Sales Representatives and the business units.

· Focus on field resource engagement and deployment through arranging business reviews, and customer actions follow-up.

· Identify and communicate the needed Marketing Communication literature (e.g., product guides, cross references, advertisements, etc.).

Qualifications:

· Electronics, Computer Science degree with a keen interest in field sales.

o 7 years of working experience in the semiconductor industry.

o 5 years of experience in a customer facing position

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Strong team player skills and high degree of flexibility

· Demonstrated ability to turn data into action, prioritize and generate results using time mgt.

  • Good understanding of customer/application needs relative to market trends, competition, pricing and supply requirements. Well aware of the needs and trends in the related marketplace and capable in derive differential sales strategies and execution

o Fundamental market knowledge and channel programs experience.

· Good understanding of distribution and distributor business model.

· Self-motivated individual with high work ethics.

· Strong sales skill and customer orientation

· Financial and business acumen.

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrate experience in successfully managing demand creation, customer intimacy and people management. High motivation and competitive drive to succeed in challenging and rapidly changing environments

· Ability to successfully work with remote teams, customers and partners.

· Ability to work across multiple functional groups within company: sales, finance, logistics, sourcing, purchasing, marketing.

· Marketing Expertise, measured by successful implementation of go to market campaigns and activities.

· Ability to prioritize opportunities with the best return on investment

· Ability and willingness to travel extensively. Regionally 80%

· Have excellent English skills, both oral and written.



Education:

Have a BSEE or MSEE degree.
