Apparel Innovation Engineer - Asia

Role Summary and Responsibilities:

The position is needed to collaborate with Innovation team members, Product Line Managers, and Marketing to help form technology strategies in apparel and textiles. And will be responsible for executing initiatives against Brooks’ and Moving Comfort’s innovation strategies. The Apparel Innovation Engineer will be working on multiple on projects at the same time and strong project management skills are critical to success. And will work with inline Development, Materials, and Product Line Managers to bring to the market new proven apparel and textile platforms by developing best practices and process for technologies in apparel and textiles. The Apparel Innovation Engineer takes pride in being able to research and create solutions from a human-centered approach to create innovative solutions and products that lead the industry.

? Manage multiple innovation projects (technologies, programs, products, and processes) from concept to commercialization.
? Research and engineer technical prototypes that address desired function, aesthetic, market appeal and manufacturability within cost targets and critical timelines.
? Participates in cross-functional projects with the ability to facilitate conversations at the consumer level and participate in the synthesis of insights to create direction and action plans.
? Generation of technical development packages for textiles and apparel to communicate intended construction and aesthetic details to our development and manufacturing partners.
? Contributes ideas for product design, construction, materials, fibers, and processes to enhance functionality, aesthetics, fit, performance and profit margin. Serves as a technical and manufacturing resource for members of the project and innovation teams.
? Work with the Human Performance Lab to help develop test protocols to validate performance of new apparel/textile concepts.
? Communicate textile and apparel technologies through presentations and training

Role Requirements:
? Bachelor’s degree Materials/Textiles Science, Garment Design/Engineering, or other related fields
? Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in materials/garment design, engineering, development or similar.
? Technical skills in apparel product development of high performance garments and materials including fiber, yarn and textile development, pattern making, fitting, costing, specifications and the manufacturing process.
? Demonstrate innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help out wherever necessary. Proven track record of executing a new, innovative ideas and completing on time.
? Curious and open minded; always open for a challenge, inventive, creative. With the ability to challenge the status quo – always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details
? Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks (self and through others), while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all of the pieces fit together and affect one another.
? Ability to work in a cross functional team environment to influence design, development and manufacturing based on sound engineering principles
? Strong communication and presentation skills with a clear ability to communicate new ideas, concepts and functional expertise to project teams. Good English skills, fluent in spoken and written English. CET-6 certificate is a must
? Ability and willingness to travel globally to various manufacturers, trade show and other external events
? Computer skills, including proficiency in Illustrator and Excel.
