Responsibilities
1. Based upon customer requirements, Technical support Engineer will be responsible for providing product solutions.
a) The product solution is including presentations of design drawings and FEA calculations.
b) Technical support Engineer is interacting directly with customer design department, i.e. it is co-design work with the customers. The interaction is under supervision by Sales (or BD).
2. The technical support Engineer will develop new product solutions based upon SCAP and SAPA’s technology support
a) Technical support Engineer is responsible for internal Product Development projects; Profile and FSW solutions for rolling stock market.
b) The Projects are initiated and defined by Sales.
3. The technical support Engineer is responsible for the interaction with external Design Engineering companies.
a) Based upon number 1 and 2 above, there might be need to cooperate with external Design Engineering companies.
b) The cooperation needs to be within budget frames and approved by sales Director.


Skills and post qualification
- Bachelor degree or above in Structural / Mechanics engineering.
- Design experience of at least 2 years.
- Preferably the work experience is from design in the rolling stock industry (e.g. car-bodies or other structural parts).
- Work experience from other transportation applications (e.g. passenger cars, trucks, aero-planes) could be a second best alternative.
- Has working experience from a major CAD system and FEA program. It is necessary to have been working focused with FEA during this time.
- Experience from working with aluminium is a plus.
- Being able to work in cross-functional and multi-cultural team settings.
- Clear and concise communications style, fluent in written and oral English and Chinese and can do the technical translator during the meeting with customer
- Attentive to quality and details.
- Willing business trip often.

Sapa Chalco Aluminium Products (Chongqing) Co. Ltd. (SCAP) is a joint venture of Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) and Sapa Group, the world’s largest aluminum extrusion company which both parties takes 50% shareholdings. It was established on 28th, June, 2011. SCAP develops competitive solutions within car body modules, exterior products and floor panels based on aluminum profiles, including extrusion, heat treatment, Friction Stir Welding (FSW) and machining. We are contributing to a safer (high strength in car body) and more energy-efficient (light weight in car body) rail transportation system building up.
