GENERAL SUMMARY：
The Program Engineer is the liaison between the Customers and Cooper-Standard in the creation and maintenance of vehicle Fluid system component designs that meet the Customer functional, timing and cost targets while maintaining Cooper-Standard Manufacturing Plant process and production feasibility requirements and profit margins. In addition, will be called upon to support the business unit on high level assignments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES：
1.Responsible for the design of fluid system assemblies and components.
2.Ensure designs meet all functional SOR requirements.
3.Liaison between the Customer design release engineers, internal and external CAD designers, CSA manufacturing plants and outside suppliers of molds, tooling and commercial components.
4.Lead and manage functional, the program specific development team of Product Design Engineers and CAD Designers
5.Responsible for communicating program concerns to Account Manager and Product Development & Engineering Manager.
6.Responsible for program design status including design time lines.
7.Responsible for coordinating regular design reviews (drawing reviews) and providing design status updates.
8.Responsible for the DFMEA’s, DVP&R’s, PFMEA’s reviews
9.Responsible for all product VE/VA reviews.
10.Participate at vehicle testing eg. Vehicle build; OEM validation tests as necessary.
11.Participate in 8-Discipline corrective action writing with manufacturing divisions to assure timely and permanent problem resolution after launch. Lead 8-D corrective action writing prior to launch.
12.Lead the engineering portion of the APQP process and input into portal.
13.Implement engineering changes.
14.Participate in vehicle builds/testing and track identified problems through to resolution.
15.Lead and support business unit at customer management meetings.
16.Mentor program teams as needed.
17.Help define technology requirements for the business unit.
18.Ensures that housekeeping, health and safety standards are maintained.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required. In order to be considered for the position, the following experience and knowledge is required for the position:
1. 5 + years experience in the design of automotive fluid systems and components.
2. Thorough knowledge of customer functional performance requirements.
3. Practicable experience as a liaison between the customer fluid system Design release engineers, internal and external CAD designers, Fluid system manufacturing plants as well as outside suppliers of molds, tooling and subcomponents.
4. Proficiency in communicating program concerns to account managers and engineering managers.
5. Experience in creating and managing component development and design time lines.
6. Proficiency in coordinating regular fluid system component design reviews including drawing reviews and providing management regular design status updates.
7. In-depth knowledge and experience in conducting fluid system product VE/VA reviews.
8. Experience in resolving vehicle fluid products trouble issues, such as interferences; leakage; rust issues, etc.
9. Proficiency at 8-Discipline corrective action facilitation with manufacturing divisions to assure timely and permanent problem resolution of problems that arise.
10. In-depth knowledge of the customer and internal APQP processes.
11. Successful evaluation and identification of customer vehicle build and validation problems.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
? Must have good technical and mechanical aptitude skills.
? Through understanding of DFMEA’s, DVP&R’s, PFMEA’s, Control Plans, APQP’s and 8D’s.
? Good written, presentation and drawing skills.
? Knows Customer specifications and requirements
? Should have computer skills including the following software programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
? In-depth experience with drawing layouts, part detailing, GD&T.
? Must be able to envision vehicle fluid system and the surrounding seal environments in 3D and in sections.
? Ability to work at all levels of the OEM organization.
? Ability to influence, motivate and control situations.
? Ability to set program direction offering win-win decisions.
? Articulating customer requirements throughout Cooper Standard.
