Quality Engineer
Role Statement:
Support Quality Manager to implement and deploy quality systems, procedures and processes into all TE relevant Plants, External Vendors sites that are supporting China Industrial Revenue. Make sure all above mentioned items are in line with internal and external global requirements with the objective of achieving an effective quality management to deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Tasks:
For this position, the person is required to take an overall responsibility of quality for assigned sub-vertical product line in terms of customer quality, supplier quality, new product quality and other quality improvement initiative related.
Customer Quality:.
- Take ownership for customer complaint handling for assigned products, lead and coordinate with internal and external resource to follow the customer case to meet customer requirement
- Unitize necessary resource to investigate root cause and improvement action for customer complaint by following 8D and TECHS process
- Support sales to supply and review quality specifications and documents.
- Lead on customer projects, activities and issues.
- Enter customer complaints into TECHS on behalf of OEM customers.
- Provide on-site support for customer complaint with related engineer team to investigate customer application, explain products and provide solution.
Supplier Quality
- Be responsible for quality management of suppliers and PBL assigned with sub-vertical product line which covers:
- New supplier qualification for quality aspect follow TE Industrial audit process
- Regular performance evaluation of supplier in terms of quality ( DLPM, DPPM, response speed) to support overall supplier management.
- Lead the improvement action for customer complaint which the products are produced in supplier side
New Product Quality
- Involve new product launching progress from Quality perspective to support closing quality related issues on process or product with internal relevant stakeholders and external PBL vendors.
- Represent for quality function in new product launching team as the customer view and make sure all related process and qualification are fulfilled.
Other project for Quality related function
- Involve for quality related function in projects, such as transfer project, product evolution, localization project, etc
- Quality improvement projects from customer , supplier , internal process
Domestic and occasional international travel will be required.
Key Qualifications, Experiences and Knowledge:
- BS in related Engineering Discipline.
- 5+ years experience in Quality function
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to achieve a desired result.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; Confidence and ability to effectively communicate with high profile customers.
- Previous experience Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, or in core manufacturing competencies such as Stamping
- Demonstrated ability to identify root cause, drive improvement actions and resolve problems.
- Experience in product test development and laboratory analysis to support root cause analysis and conclusions.
- Willingness to travel domestically and globally and ability to participate in teleconference meetings early morning or late evening to accommodate other time zones.
- Formal Six-sigma training and experience, a background in statistics, and proficiency in Mini-Tab is highly desirable.

- Strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Proven track record for involve in program launch, good experience on team working, and solid experience on project implementation
- Excellent interpersonal and people communication skills
- Familiarity with working in teams across functions and countries in a matrixed organization is required.
This role requires a person with a balance between results-driven intensity, innovation in break-through and strategic initiatives. In addition, data driven, solid problem analysis and solving skill, fast and effective decision-making and clarity in communication are key requirements.
