Network Administration
· Administers and configures a multiple server network with 300+ nodes.
· Troubleshoots network problems for the Local Area Network (LAN).
· Maintains diagrams and documentation of system networks.
· Performs system upgrades and installs network software and hardware after evaluation and testing.
· Implements and maintains Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity to facilitate communications with other project partners, LEGOLAND parks and headquarters.
· Ensures system access and security controls are met.
User Support
· Evaluates, recommends, and installs software, hardware, peripherals, and telephone systems.
· Supports users on a variety of software applications serving park operations, retail and food systems, ticketing and admissions, and business systems.
· Coordinates training with outside software vendors as required.
· Performs help desk function (via telephone and in-person) to support users and provide first-line technical and software support.
· Takes appropriate action or makes suggestions/ recommendations for solutions to problems relating to system-wide software/ programming needs.
Inventory Management
· Maintains inventory of hardware, software, and telephone systems.
· Order hardware and telephone systems for new users as required according to department and purchasing procedures.
· Track software usage and ensures compliance with software licensing agreements.
Outside Resources and Vendors
· Maintains effective business relationships with vendors, suppliers, and technical product support resources.
Special Projects
· Set objectives, plans, develops action plans, schedules, and budgets and executes special projects as assigned.
Supervision
· Has responsibility for leadership and supervision of department personnel.
Key Skills
· Requires at least five years of progressive experience in providing network, hardware, software and telephone support.
· Experience with local area network (LAN) required; wide area network (WAN) experience preferred.
· Knowledge of communication protocols and TCP/IP required.
· Experience with point of sale (POS) systems, inventory control systems, and/or report writers a plus.
· Requires positive and strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with users and provide high levels of technical support and customer service.
· Requires incumbent to be a self-starter, take initiative and demonstrate proactive in developing systems, planning and organizing tasks, and managing multiple projects and priorities.
· Must be detail oriented, able to maintain complete, accurate system documentation, manage time productively, and keep records of activities pending and completed.
· Exhibits effective leadership skills and abilities in managing staff, working with others, including the ability to solve or facilitate the resolution of problems.
Education
· Requires at least two years of college or technical training in information systems, computer science or closely related field (or equivalent education and experience).
· Designation as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred.
· Designation as a Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) a plus.
· Candidate must demonstrate currency in the information technology field.
