MISSION

The MES Systems Engineer is responsible for analysis, building, implementation and support of manufacturing shop floor information solutions and processes. Job duties include requirements definition, systems analysis, application deployment and optimization. Work performed in a fast-paced environment within tight time constraints. Unusual hours and travel may be required. This is a salary exempt position.

TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES

Organizational:

• Analyze business requirements through user interaction or through project leader in order to translate requirements into design specifications and functional code

• Design and adapt the system to changing business processes and needs
• Basic project management required for affected systems
• Provide support to other positions as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Plant Support:

• Support, modify and maintain current functional code
• Participate in corrective actions, problem resolution, continuous improvement and quality assurance effort

            

• Serve as second / third level support for plant floor systems as needed.

System Troubleshooting/resolution:

• Provide system analysis and design consulting services for projects as needed

        

• Maintain and develop knowledge and skills relevant to current technologies and applications to proactively recommend solutions to business needs
• Support and tweak MES software and user documentation
• Resolve all performance problems and technical support issues via collaborative system troubleshooting

    

    

Communication:

    

• Maintain regular schedule of oral/written correspondence with team members and customers

    

    

Software Maintenance:

• Perform regular database maintenance, query development and optimization to assure that performance and service levels are met
• Perform and assure recurrent data integrity, validation and regression testing activities.

Training:

• Must successfully complete all CES required training

        

• Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures
• Must comply with all safety rules and regulations

    

    

Standards:

    

• Ensure compliance of standards and procedures in the support of new programs or existing solutions including design documentation and test plans.

Job Technical skills

    

• ASP.Net / VB.Net programming experience
• Microsoft extended portfolio of development tools and applications
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of MS SQL query, maintenance
• Ability to create and maintain documentation in accordance to industry standards and SDLC process requirements
• Knowledge of OPC and shop floor communication protocols

    

    

Job Soft Skills

    

• General understanding of hardware infrastructure; ERP, MES, quality, and manufacturing processes
• Project Management knowledge and basic skills
• Able to operate with minimal supervision towards optimal performance.
• Knowledge of ERP, MES, SCADA, Historian, and other industrial software.
• Knowledge of Automotive Standards Specifications
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship with internal and external customers and suppliers
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure and ability to complete simultaneous tasks effectively to meet user and management imposed deadlines.
