You will establish and maintain a Quality Culture within ABB, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. In charge of developing & maintaining the Quality Management System of the Division/BU. All aspects managed in line with ABB Group guidance. Actively involved in Group guidance development.
This is an QCE Manager, CS China & EL Global role, reporting to Service and Digital Platform Manager in Business Area – Robotics & Discrete Automation, Service & Digital Platform located in Shanghai, China.
- Working within Divisions and BUs to prevent mistakes and defects in products and avoid problems when delivering solutions or services to customers, providing confidence that ABB and customer quality requirements will be fulfilled, focusing on issue prevention rather than just control, establishing customer and stakeholder needs/expectations, drive the utilization of process management across the local business to deliver consistent results, minimizing variation and maximizing efficiencies.
- Utilizing requirements management, processing implementation, risk management and performance measurement to ensure effective internal controls are in place to meet customer and stakeholder requirements across the business including Centers of Excellence and GBS.
- Ensuring the Voice of the Customer is represented within ABB – at all levels in the company, risks, problems and solutions are evaluated from a customer/stakeholder point of view.
- Driving adoption of effective ABB Group aligned systems and tools to deliver Products, Services and Software that meets customer needs and complying with regulatory statues throughout its lifecycle.
- Leading the development and deployment of policies, regulations and processes that make up the management system and are effective in meeting customer and shareholder expectations. Supporting senior business management to ensure that the operational approach and system of business management are continually evaluated for effectiveness.
- Performing audits and ensuring the use of analytics of Quality data from all parts of the business to identify risks, failures and non-conformances within the businesses, ensuring that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken, and solutions are managed to closure.
- Ensuring, with the support of HR, that the Division/BU Quality teams are sustainably assessed, staffed, trained and developed in line with ABB Group QO guidance.
- Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree.
- Extensive experience 10+ years in overall quality management with extensive knowledge and experience in quality system, QCQA, supplier quality, customer quality, NPI.
- Good knowledge with Lean & Six Sigma, experience with Lean or Six Sigma improvement projects or application of the associated tools, track record of proven leadership skills and ability to lead and influence others, to deal with change management.
- Ability to perceive added values from a Customer perspective, excellent communication skills; verbal and written; Chinese and English, being action and result oriented, ability to overcome barriers, make things happen, with sense of urgency, capability of setting up, improving all aspects of factory quality system.
- Well-versed with Office software, strong project management, lean expertise advanced technical knowledge is an advantage, advanced knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Minitab and other statistical tools and L6S personal certificate would be an advantage, track record of proven leadership skills and ability to lead and influence others, to deal with change management, ability to perceive added values from a Customer perspective.
- Strong analytical skills to deal with non-quality investigation, data & statistical analyses, coaching and mentoring skills required with very high level of structuring, self-motivated and self-organization, open mindedness and strong interpersonal skills and strong desire to achieve black belt certification is required.
