职位描述

Main purpose of job:


Lead on expat matters, mainly on work visa/work permit/residence permit application/annual inspection/renewal, medical check, relocation matters. This role ensures that all government related rules and regulations on expat staff’s visa and residential matters are followed rigorously and thus ensuring the interests of school and staff are protected. Back up the duties and responsibilities of other team members as assigned by Line manager when necessary.

Main duties & responsibilities to support achieving accountabilities


1.Visa application and renewal processing

  • Keep updated on all government rules and regulations regarding expatriate staff’s legal stay in China
  • Maintain regular and good working relations with relevant bureaus and visa/work permit authorities working closely with government affairs team
  • Can provide guidance on below matters

o New staff visa application documents preparation (including work permit letter application, invitation letter application etc.)

o Current staff and staff’s dependents visa renewal

o Staff visa transfer when doing the passport renewal

o Staff’s new dependants’ registration and the visa application

o Temporary police registration application for staff living on site

o CRB check related procedures for expat staff

o Business visa application for VIP guests

o Student visa application for student who is over 18 years old

o Handle the budgeting related to expatriate staffs’ legal stay in China

o Liaison with Finance department with all the payment issue regarding to the visa issue

o Collect visa process information and keep updating in visa tracker

2. Others

  • Provide other support assigned by line manager.
  • Back up on other expat matters of the school when necessary

Professional skill and knowledge required


- Knowledge of laws and regulations issued by Chinese government on expatriate staff’s employment, including visa application, police check etc.

- Familiar with Chinese labour laws and relevant personnel regulations such as social insurance scheme.

- Time management and multi-tasking skills when under work pressure

- Fluent English, understand Western (British) culture and how to approach, handle, deal with expat teachers/SLT

- Understand the requirement of each local foreign expert bureau (Zhuhai, Chongqing, Nanning, Shenzhen) and able to verify our targeted candidates meet those local requirements and can be employed successfully

- Willing to learn, flexible and adaptive to ever changing policies and procedures

- Able to communicate and work effectively with external service providers (e.g. local visa agents, hotel quarantine team in different cities, etc.)

- Resourceful, never say no, solution focused, task oriented, able to work independently and under pressure, and be a great team player at the same time.


Experience


Mandatory

- At least 7-8 years working experience in similar expat service areas in multi-national environment.

- Experience in handling local visa issuing bodies and foreign expert bureau.

Previous experience in handling government related support and familiar with the protocol in communicating with Chinese authorities
