Position Summary
***is seeking a digital marketingprofessional for the role of Internet Marketing(IM) Media BuyingManger for itsexpandingbusiness in China, which is part of the company's new Global Expansion business unit within *** Marketplaces.
The successful candidate will work on ***'s partnership with and presence on a third-party Chinese ecommerce platform (the "Partner"), designing and executing media plans in support of this venture's brand positioning and transaction volume goals.An integral part of both the in-country China Marketing team and the centralized Global Expansion Marketing team, this person will work in tight cooperationwith the China Marketing Director and the Head of Internet Marketing for the Global Expansion region.
This is a highly demanding and important role in which the successful candidate will shape ***'s online media strategy and execution in China, helping to establish *** as a leading and highly trafficked ecommerce brand in this fast growing market.
The successful candidate will possess previoushands-on digital media planning and digital media buyingexperience and passion for driving market-leading innovation and winning performance.
This position will be basedin Shenzhen, China,with occasional need forinternational travel.
Primary Job Responsibilities
? Digital media planning:
o Understand the target audience that *** wants to reach, research and understand its media consumption patterns and most effective touch points for reaching it
o Put together comprehensive and maximally efficient online media plans to drive ***'s brand message and to drive transactions. Do so across the full range of online media outlets - portals, vertical sites, video sites, search engines, display ad exchanges, social media sites, navigational sites, mobile, etc.
o Have clear KPIs and goals established for each component of the plan
o Where appropriate collaborate with, learn from and direct ***'s media agency
o Fully leverage the Partner's knowledge and best practice in online media planning
? Digital media buying:
o Work with media owners (and where appropriate with their sales agencies) on executing media buys in accordance with plans
o Negotiate best terms possible, capture any available rate discounts
o Institute clear tracking and performance reporting for all buys
o Optimize media performance during campaign flights, incl. by working with media owners, to hit and exceed goals and KPIs
o Whenever appropriate leverage the Partner's media buying expertise and rates as well as ***'s media agency's buying expertise and rates
? Work with ***'s creative agency, with the Partner's marketing team and/or engage digital creative specialist agencies to produce, test and constantly refresh and optimize creatives trafficked. Drive innovation in the area of creative
? Collaborate closely with the China IM Partnerships Manager and the Global Expansion Marketing Paid Search team on joint execution of media plans. If appropriate and with agreement of the Paid Search team engage Chinese market paid search specialists
? Be on the forefront of display marketing developments and innovations in China, trial innovative solutions, incl. working extensively with display ad exchanges
? Closely partner with the Analytics team to evaluate incremental value brought to *** by display media advertising with various partners, leveraging the analytical insight to ensure ROI-positive deal terms
? Understand and leverage online media buying best practice across the Global Expansion region (esp. Russia, Brazil) as well as across other business units (Europe, North America), apply it to China as appropriate
Job Requirements - Experience
? 6+ years ofdigital marketing and online media buying experience at increasing levels of responsibilityat leading internet companies or at media agencies with strong digital practices in China
? Proven track record of developing and executingcomplex and innovative digital media buys and creative development in support of successful campaigns
? Experience withagencies management, track record at getting agencies to deliver their best work to meet business objectives
? Proven experience of managing and delivering highly complex projects, working across multiple cross-functional teams, geographies and management levels, often getting "buy-in" from multiple stakeholders and partnering with senior managers
? Budget management experience, including setting budgets, forecasting and accruals management, solid analytics
? A confidentcommunicator with experience of speakingand persuading in large meetings
Job Requirements - Skills and Education
? Bachelor's degree required
? Confident knowledge of the Chinese digital media landscape and Chinese media buying best practice
? Superior analytical skills, proven ability to identify and flex drivers of performance to achieve desired outcome
? Good at and likes building relationships, exhibits gravitas in dealing with senior counterparts at partner organizations
? Superior project management and agency management skills
? Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities, comfortable with ambiguity
? Team player who works well with people in other companies, countries and from different cultures, building and maintain strong working relationships
? Entrepreneurial approach (proactive, hands-on, action-orientated, resourceful and creative); a self-starter with high intrinsic motivation to deliver outstanding results
