POSITION OVERVIEW

Implementation of the Magna International Global Environmental and Health & Safety Compliance Programs in the Asia facilities, conducting audits and inspections, and providing support to all facilities to assist them with compliance with regulations and internal EHS policies and with communication with regulators, and to identify opportunities and assist facilities in continuous improvement of EHS and related practices. This position will be based in Shanghai, China.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conducting Environmental Compliance Inspections (regulations and best practices) on annual basis unless third party Environmental Audit is conducted

· Conducting Health & Safety Audits and Inspections focusing on physical recommendations related to compliance issues

· Provide technical EHS support to facilities, including training, orientation and advice on EHS issues

· Maintain and update the Environmental Inspection checklist to be current with relevant country Regulations, internal Magna best practices and modifications based on experiences through the global implementation

· Review third party compliance reports to ensure formal and technical accuracy; manage third party auditor consistency and quality.

· Development of Action plans from all findings of Environmental and Health& Safety Audits and Inspections, evaluating based on risk and posting through the ActionLinx internal system.

· Track accident information data from facilities for reporting.

· Provide direction and assistance in the implementation of the ergonomic program requirements delivered through head office, .

· Follow-up of action plan items and requested corrective actions at least quarterly.

· Maintain organized files as required in both electronic and hard copy format relating to reports, communication, confidential memos on EHS facility related issues.

· Collaboration with the global E & HS teams with regards to new internal standards and new systems to be implemented

· Provide periodic reviews of E& HS legislation affecting Magna facilities and maintain the Internal Magna E& HS Checklists

· Other duties as required


QUALIFICATION

· Related degree in environmental and/or health & safety

· Practical Ergonomics experience preferred

· Fluency (written and spoken) in Chinese and English ; familiarity with Korean or Japanese preferred

· Minimum 5 years progressive experience in environmental & health and safety activity in an industrial setting or consulting to industry

· Sound knowledge of Chinese environmental regulations relevant to industry ; knowledge of other Asian regulatory requirements an asset

· Familiarity with ISO 14001 and 18001 management systems

· Compliance auditing or training experience an asset

· Positive, pro-active, energetic and professional

· Detail oriented, self-motivated and works as a team player

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
