BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for developing, maintaining, optimizing, improving and documenting existing manufacturing process capabilities within specified safety and cost constraints in area of assignment.
1. Using statistical analysis and manufacturing engineering techniques, troubleshoots manufacturing processes and develops ways to reduce variability in those processes.
2. Ensures product quality, process capabilities, and cost improvements.
3. Works closely with Quality Engineering to implement Process Controls and conducts statistical root cause analysis to identify ways to improve and maintain acceptable product quality.
4. Works closely with production and facilities maintenance to troubleshoot and repair problems with production equipment.
5. Develops and implements capital improvement projects to provide cost savings to the process.
6. Using lean manufacturing techniques and six sigma methodologies develops process improvements and optimal use of manufacturing resources.
7. Support SQE to ensure supplier stabilizing qualified process and output.
8. Works closely with Design Engineering to support new product introduction and product upgrades, design for manufacturability and cost improvement initiatives.
9. Develops standard operating procedures which direct the most efficient, cost effective and highest quality process.
10. Reduces machine down-time by developing standard work instructions for predictive/preventative maintenance. Identifies the schedule, tools, and supplies needed for proper maintenance of capital equipment.
11. Works closely with Finance and Materials to ensure correct manufacturing costs, process routings and bill of materials.
