    NovAtel Inc. (A Hexagon Positioning Intelligence Company) is looking for a tech-savvy and personable Application Engineer to help us drive our business forward by supporting some of the biggest names in the industry. In this exciting hands-on position, you will utilize your GNSS+INS expertise to ensure our customers’ success. Through the support of our Sales and Business Development teams, you will help to increase awareness of NovAtel’s revolutionary technologies, consult on positioning solutions for many exciting applications, and provide field and professional services to NovAtel’s worldwide customer base.

  

While part of a growing Global Application Engineering team, this position will have a strong focus on supporting NovAtel’s (A Hexagon Positioning Intelligence Company) customers in China and will report into Hexagon PI's head office located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The team collaborates closely with Customers, Sales, Product Management, Project Management and Marketing to help ensure the cohesive and comprehensive delivery of products and materials. Our customers rely on NovAtel’s industry leading precision GNSS and INS technology when building their own solutions.

Responsibilities:

  

As our Application Engineer, you would be responsible for:

  

• Providing front line product and application support on NovAtel Hardware, Software, and related GNSS & INS topics to internal and external customers
• Providing customer training, demonstrations, technical assistance, and technical sales support with some of the biggest names in the industry
• Collaborate with other departments regarding technical matters
• Working closely with Sales / Business Development in accordance to the market needs and agreed priorities
• Formulating and implementing procedures and plans for resolving problems
• Performing software testing, verification, bug reports, and field trial coordination
• Reviewing technical documentation materials and manuals
• Generating application notes for frequently asked questions and contributing to our internal and external knowledge base

  

Qualifications:

  

Must-Have:                       

  

• Degree in Geomatics, Electrical Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of related industry experience
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to get on with others
• English fluency with excellent verbal and written skills
• Mandarin fluency
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally, including trips to Canada to collaborate with the larger Application Engineering team
