Position: Product Manager Laser Processing Asia
Reports to: Director Asia-Pacific Optical Systems
Responsibility
- Act as an entrepreneur and drive the growth of our standard optics revenues in laser processing for applications like smartphone manufacturing, electric vehicles, heavy industries and others
- Provide technical sales support
- Understand and communicate the trends and requirements through deep application know how in the markets and derive specifications for new products in your product portfolio
- Develop strategies and roadmaps based on inputs from markets and customers
- Set up, develop a cross-functional team around your product portfolio based on business volume and take it to highest performance, identify and solve issues and remove barriers for growth
- Contribute with a hands on mentality, specific know how and skills in optics assembly, optics design, laser processing applications, supply chain management/supplier qualification, technical project management, R&D
- Represent the technical aspects of your product portfolio externally at conferences, seminars, trade shows
- Digest and structure information from customers to make it valuable for R&D, sales, production and purchasing
Requirement
- University degree in Physics, Optics, Engineering or similar fields or proven record of outstanding experience with respect to the tasks
- Entrepreneurial nature
- Sound business history in lasers/optics/materials applications like Semi/Display/Smartphone manufacturing industries
- Well established personal business network in China
- Native Mandarin speaker with excellent written and oral English language skills
- 10+ years work experience with EU - and/or US headquartered high tech companies
- Understands to coordinate comprehensive initiatives & projects with teams at our German and US locations
- Flexibility to extensively travel within China and overseas
- Highly motivated and self driven personality, strong communicator
- Familiar with working in matrix organization and with cross functional teams
