Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change. Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports. Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts; defining accounting policies and procedures. Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues. Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls. Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures. Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE)
2.1 Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in Linamar’s geographic locations and:
? The Global Operating System Plays
? OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety management system standard
? ISO 14001 Environmental Management system standard
? TS 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards
2.2 Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
2.3 Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
2.4 Allocate work to staff employees.
2.5 Implement cost control.
2.6 Assist in developing an annual budget/forecast as needed for 5-year plan for management.
2.7 Assist in strategic planning with management.
2.8 Ensure department employee evaluations are conducted on a timely and consistent basis.
2.9 Organize and schedule regular administration department meetings.
2.10 Forecast areas of training and development required for the administration department.
2.11 Coordinate and maintain the accounting activities.
2.12 Oversee preparation of monthly financial statements and account reconciliation’s.
2.13 Interfaces with all departments and corporate office.
2.14 Administers office requirements regarding staffing and organization.
2.15 Compile all employees group RSP and pension benefits.
2.16 Oversee with Payroll Clerk the Life AD & D, LTD, Additional Life and Optional Life benefits.
2.17 Verify overtime and expense payments.
2.18 Verify cheques for bi-weekly payroll.
2.19 Ensure all information disposed of in accordance with Policy A 6.7.
3.0 ACADEMIC / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
3.1 BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
3.2 Minimum 5 years experience in accounting position preferably in a manufacturing environment.
4.0 REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
4.1 Ability to meet, realize and support customers’ product requirements, implement the knowledge of operation system and specific requirement.
4.2 Excellent skills in team management, execution, communication and coordination.
4.3 Strong ability in cost accounting, cost controlling and financial analysis.
4.4 Strong analytical skills.
4.5 Attention to Detail.
4.6 Bilingual English and Mandarin.
