? Responsible for the coordination of the entire H&S management system for the facility to ensure historical injury experience is being focused upon; formal processes exist to identify and resolve injury risk potential; processes are in place to ensure adequate H&S training is provided; and protocol exists to assure country regulatory compliance.
? Manage an overall risk based safety & health program.
? Position will work closely with Country EHS Manager to assure that H&S management is a coordinated process. Responsible for translating and documenting corporate protocol for the plant (i.e. Directives, Procedure Templates, Training Programs, etc.).
? Develop and deploy processes to help assure that proper safety and health provisions are incorporated into all jobs performed at the facility, employing techniques of hazard analysis, risk assessment analyses and safe job procedures in addition to safety management systems like OHSAS 18001. A formal health and safety management system should be deployed at all sites.
? Formalize and implement an incident and near miss investigation process to ensure, compliance with Corporate H&S initiatives. Track incidents and use analysis methods to identify opportunities for improvement.
? Identify facility regulatory compliance needs by performing a gap analysis against safety legal requirements within the specific country. Develop a plan to assure that the facility meets regulatory requirements as necessary to help assure compliance and a safe and healthy work environment. Follow-up and verify to assure deployment of plan.
? Responsible for performing H&S assessments as requested and in accordance to corporate protocol. Follow-up and verify to assure that deficiencies identified as part of the assessment are satisfactorily resolved.
? Develop protocol to address H&S concerns and questions by facility personnel to eliminate the need for personnel to seek outside assistance.
? Develop a process to identify and track injury costs by facility, consistent with the costs incurred protocol for the specific region, with periodic communication to regional leadership. Responsible for implementing post injury management processes with the primary objective of cost containment and continual improvement.
? Become knowledgeable of all essential job functions performed within each facility and develop H&S processes as necessary to continually evaluate and control risk.
? Periodically review, evaluate and manage change as necessary to ensure effective facility H&S management system.
? Assist with Corporate, Regional and Country H&S initiatives in other sites as needed.
? Provide H&S support as needed for all acquisitions and divestitures.
