1. Purpose of Position:
Manages and supervises the business and its marketing activities of category and/or product portfolio assigned

2. Main Responsibilities:

? Develops strategies and proactively responding to consumer/shopper trends, competitive threats, brand issues and opportunities
? Determines the optimal portfolio strategy, paying attention to new products as well as the base business
? Formulates specific category plans that consistent with overall company goals.
? Sells concept and ideas to management
? Marketing Planning
? Translates consumer insights into category strategies and marketing plans
? Builds and defends market share with plans aligned to category strategy
? Develops comprehensive understanding of brand equity, target market and positioning relative to competitors
? Identifies new ways to grow the category by educating consumers and by increasing penetration and usage
? Innovation
? Draws on consumer insights and related competitive information for new product development
? Identifies and expands new product development opportunities faster than the competition
? Finds creative ways to generate new products ideas that become commercially viable
? Initiates brainstorming / concept development programs
? Suggests new ideas to improve product performance
? Identifies new ways of solving day-to-day problems.
? Business and Financial Analysis
? Understands how decisions impact profitability and making fact-based decisions
? Examines every opportunity for margin improvement / creative ideas to grow profitability
? Periodically check category P&L against financial goals (NSV, VC and OI)
? Demonstrates cost consciousness, clear understanding of marketing budget, contractual agreement with agencies and control of marketing expenditure
? Prepares accurate and timely report i.e. retail audit, marketing data for management, yearly marketing plan, promotion/campaigns evaluation etc.
? Consumer and Shopper Insights
? Masters deep consumer/shopper insights to drive strategy and category growth
? Recognizes the benefits consumers seek and identifies unmet consumer needs
? Capitalizes on relevant data about consumer/shopper trends, usage and segments
? Looks for emerging consumer trends / needs for new product opportunities
? Exploits consumer and shopper understanding to create product differentiation
? Initiates research projects that support category strategies
? Comprehends market research methodologies
? Promotion Effectiveness
? Conceptualizes innovative, consumption-driving promotions that are profitable
? Measures return on investment through post promotion evaluation
? Finds opportunities to improve effectiveness of current promotion and merchandising
? Leveraging the use of the various tools such as the Internet, NED channel etc
? Has a good grasp of the various promotion mechanics and their relative success
? Looks for cross-promotional opportunities
? Develops and align quarterly / yearly promotion plan with Sales
? Advertising: Creative and Media
? Prepares clear, insightful and thorough creative and media briefs to guide the agency
? Leads and works with Legal & R&D to achieve the most competitive visual and copy communication possible (both pack and creative like POP, TVC, Print )
? Stays abreast of developments and implications in technology and the dynamic media / communication environment
? Maximizes media budget in the most effective and efficient way
? Trade / Sales Understanding
? Leads and works with trade marketing / sales for optimal understanding and resolution of merchandising, promotion and distribution issues
? Comprehends how shoppers respond to product features such as price, size and packaging
? Exploits opportunities and works with sales to increase distribution
? Maintains a trade perspective when developing new products and activities
? Draws business insights from trade visit and store checks
? Cross-Functional Collaboration
? Works collaboratively across functions and categories.
? Understands how business decisions impact the supply chain
? Understands how supply chain activities impact category / product profitability
? Uses consumer and customer data to optimize portfolio/SKUs
? Develops strong working relationships with professionals in other departments.
? Tracks and keep team members informed of project status / updates
? Identifies creative solutions to overcome concerns / conflicts that affect project implementation
? Executional Excellence
? Masters the critical activities and resources required to deliver on time and on budget.
? Ensures that project timeline is developed with detailed components, making it clear who is responsible for each action.
? Identifies and implement activities that can run in parallel
? Understands the costs and timing required to meet timeline
? Connects and communicates with the key people across functions for fast, effective decision making and implementation
? Monitors progress during and post new product launch, identify success and setbacks and capture learnings for future improvements.
? Conducts regular market visits to gather, report and disseminate information in relate to competitor activities, market scenario, pricing, merchandising, consumers and shoppers.
? Responds to different day-to-day activities as job demands

? Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills with multi-functional teams
? Develops and retain talents
Coaches and provides regular objective appraisals and feedback to subordinates.

? Role model and provide the training / experience sharing with the subordinates to improve the individual's capability and skills.

? Understand Heinz Quality and EHS Policies and implement in daily work.

3. Position qualifications:
? Educational requirement
? Bachelor or above

? Working Experience and Technical Skill required
? Minimum 3 years working experience in the FMCG industry with experience in new product development.

? Personal characters
? Innovative, strategic, analytical thinking and consumer oriented mindset (business sense is vital)
? In-depth understanding of consumer insights, master the various research tools and methodology
? Good understanding of trade/channel environment
? Effective communication and presentation skill with good command of English
? Strong team player and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills
? Demonstrates strong leadership potential to coach and guide subordinates
