Material Handling Manager - Changshu Plant

General
Manages all Material Handling operations required to support the Assembly, Stamping, Component and shipping/ckd packing as required by scope
Responsible and accountable for floor material flow activity (internal/external)
Assists the Material Director in daily operations
Maintains constant contact with production material and floor operations
Represents the department in various activities or committees as required
Assesses weekly charts with Material Director
Replaces Material Director as required
Audits departmental records for employees (Safety, Attendance, Overtime, Vacation, Suggestions, etc.)
Supports production organization
Develops standardized work
Maintains hospital clean housekeeping standards and applies 5S
Supports administrative office activities
Training Coordination
Internal Controls compliance for their functions

Safety
Recognizes and communicates safe work practices as the highest priority
Supports adherence to all mobile equipment checks and safe vehicle driving practices
Monitors compliance to all rail and truck loading/unloading safety standards
Ensures housekeeping standards and applies 5S

People
Audits departmental records for employees: (Safety documentation, Ergonomics, Suggestions, Grievances, Training, Attendance and overtime, Vacation)
Develops subordinates
Develops and maintains labor relations and compliance with agreements
Supports the suggestion program
Coordinates safety and ergonomics issues for the department
Attends plant planning meetings

Quality
Supervises floor operations
Oversees development of standardized work
Implements, monitors and maintains GMS elements
Implements, monitors and maintains competitive initiatives
Performs and audits adherence to Material Floor Layered Audits
Maintains ISO standards
Annual Business Plan Development and Scorecard
Participates in the development of the department's annual Business Plan Deployment (BPD) and Scorecard
Documents plans/ideas for future years' BPD's
Monitor the scorecard reporting process for input into Gap Closure Planning for current and future years
Provides input into budget development based on Annual Plans and ongoing Gap Closure Planning
Champion or Coach GoFast workshops in the department

Responsiveness
Supports production organization
Monitors and drives gap closure plans in support of BPD / Scorecard metrics
Reports planning activities and progress to management

Cost
Responsible for and oversees expenditures by Material floor operations
Coordinates facility changes with plant facility engineering
Involved in continuous improvement process at 3rd parties
