ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating quality assurance programs and procedures to ensure purchased product quality and reliability, compliance to Changshu and customer requirements and conformance to Hilite engineering specifications. This position also provides leadership in the selection and development of current and future suppliers to Changshu, and to support the Changshu production line

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Responsible for the establishment and implementation of procedures that support Changshu goals and objectives for continuous improvement and cost and waste reduction.
2. Responsible for the establishment and administration of systems and procedures to monitor the performance of outside suppliers regarding product quality and reliability.
3. Responsible for monitoring supplier conformance to Hilite Changshu and customer requirements for ISO/TS 16949 conformance.
4. Responsible for the coordination of the development of inspection techniques that correlate between Hilite Changshu and its supplier base.
5. Responsible for evaluating supplier conformance to the AIAG Production Part Approval Process and any special Hilite Changshu or customer requirements and is responsible to assure the necessary records of conformance are adequately maintained.
6. Responsible for coordinating the resolution of customer concerns that are the result of supplier non- conformance and to assure that a documented corrective action is provided for customer review as required.
7. Act as liaison between the supplier and Hilite product engineering and be responsible for communicating supplier requests for engineering changes through the change management system.
8. Responsible for the review, documentation, verification and approval of supplier corrective actions and the maintenance of supplier corrective action monitoring systems.
9. Responsible for the development and maintenance of systems and procedures to monitor and report supplier quality performance both internally and to various suppliers.
10. Provide support to production line in the resolution of quality concerns regarding purchased components
11. Perform failure analysis on the components of the rejected units from production line or customer
12. Work with the First Test Yield team to improve the production test yield
13. Responsible for verifying and approving all supplier advanced quality planning activities and for providing assistance as required to the supplier in the development of these activities at the various supplier locations.
14. Responsible for conducting onsite Quality Systems Assessments at the various supplier locations to assure conformance of the supplier quality systems to Hilite Changshu, customer and AIAG ISO/TS 16949 requirements. The SQE will provide training and assistance as required to the various suppliers to achieve and maintain conformance to these requirements. Responsible for the review of self-assessments conducted and submitted by suppliers.
15. Assist or provide leadership in internal Hilite Changshu quality audits to assure Hilite Changshu conformance to its documented quality systems.
16. Provide recommendations as to the acceptability of any new or potential suppliers to Hilite Changshu.


PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Works closely with all levels of personnel internally and at the supplier locations to assure Changshu quality standards are maintained.


REQUIRED EDUCATION BACKGROUND, KNOWLEDGE AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:

The incumbent should be proficient in the development and evaluation of process control plans, FMEA, process flow diagrams, and SPC and have a familiarity with machining, injection molding, plating, nitriding, metal stamping, powder metal, coil winding or deep draw processes. A mechanical or mechatronics engineering degree or the equivalent in experience is required. 15+ years of supplier quality and/or quality engineering experience is preferred. Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred. Fluent in written and spoken English.
