Position Overview:
The Vendor Specialist will have primary responsibility for managing critical supplier accounts, including all strategic and operational activities. This position is responsible for facilitating the flow of materials from local vendors to multiple Flowserve sites within country and globally.

The Vendor Specialist will ensure materials sourced meet or exceed Flowserve’s On-Time Delivery (OTD) & Lead time reduction targets and work closely with other functional teams to achieve Quality and Cost goals. Vendor Specialist will work towards maximizing our ability to achieve our net profit and return on investment goals, while in compliance with the Flowserve Code of Business Conduct.

The Vendor Specialist will be geographically located near the supplier operations and will spend a high percentage of time at the suppliers’ site(s).


Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Operational Tasks
? Maintain healthy, constructive supplier relationships
? Manage regular site orders and coordinate projects from start to completion
? Provide routine, high-quality updates to buying sites
? Solve problems hindering OTD and coordinate to improve quality performance; consult with Flowserve Subject Matter Experts as required
? Expedite late orders and arrange short-lead time orders as needed

Strategic Tasks
? Leverage Flowserve volumes to negotiate better terms; initiate contracts
? Support supplier capacity forecasting and planning
? Implement supply agreements (as required)
? Measure and report supplier performance
? Conduct gap analysis and identify key areas of development
? Establish and manage continuous improvement programs

Experience & Education
· Undergraduate/Bachelor degree Engineering or Master in Management (any discipline)
· 5-7 years’ experience in supply chain, purchasing, sourcing, etc.
· Proficiency in Project Management
· Oral and written communication skills
· Fluency in English reading, writing and speaking
· Analytical thinking, ability for creative problem solving
· Able to influence across levels and without direct reporting hierarchy
· Cooperative negotiation skills
· Ability to effectively manage self and time independently
· Sense of urgency and ability to motivate others to common goals
· Knowledge and experience with CIP tools and principles
· Work experience in Global sourcing or International procurement office is an added advantage
