GENERAL SUMMARY:
1. Provides leadership and resource management for part of the overall engineering division, including resource staffing, coaching, retention and performance evaluation.
2. Works collaboratively with peers and subordinates to create an engineering organization that operates at world-class levels
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Create and maintain account plans for the relevant engineering teams. Responsible for the overall results of these teams.
2. When necessary, will manage the startup of a new client relationship including provisioning of staff, management of the knowledge-acquisition process, visiting the customer and facilitating the transition of client relationships from start-up to steady state.
3. Proactively communicates and manages risks both internally and with the clients.
4. Assists sales staff in making project estimations, proposals and present in presale conference calls for new prospects.
5. Actively manage the down-time for engineering staff and ensure that the time is being used for pre-sales, approved training, creation of solutions to assist sales, creation of marketing collateral, etc.
6. Manage alliance partnerships and partnership contracts/agreements. Review other alliance partners for possible synergies and build relations when appropriate.
7. Adhere to Bleum’s highly disciplined Pearl process at all times.
8. Manages the engineering team to ensure professional behavior and appearance.
9. Develops and grows next level of leadership in the engineering team to support the delivery of services to customers and the growth of the business.
10. Holds monthly governance calls with clients and provides Executive Dashboards
11. Manages customer relationships. Proactively ensure overall customer satisfactory including onsite visits when appropriate.
12. Ensures that each engagement results in the creation/updating of appropriate artefacts, e.g. templates, checklists, training materials, etc. for operational purposes and case-studies for marketing.
13. Manages team costs and revenue to meet/exceed gross margin targets.
14. Develops new business from existing clients through excellent customer relationship and account management.
15. Ensure that all contracts are reviewed by legal before signing, and that invoices are issued on time, and that accounts receivable are well managed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
Functional Competencies:
1. Highly Experienced in the management of software development teams.
2. Implement processes and disciplines to ensure the on time and within budget consultation of high quality project.
3. Leading and developing a talented team of high-performing software engineers in a highly dynamic environment.
4. Be strongly customer oriented and will be the technical spokesperson for the company to both customers and third part suppliers.
5. Develops schedules, capital and operating budgets, and manages the product development lifecycle within these guidelines.
6. Works with other executive level staff including VPs of Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Finance to achieve corporate business objectives and financial goal.
7. Excellent on project estimation
Interpersonal Competencies:
1. Very Result oriented individual with a disciplined approach to service delivery.
2. Excellent communication skill (oral & written) and presentation skill.
3. Good customer relationship management skill.
4. Comfortable interacting with customer’s executive team.
5. Be able to develop new business from existing client by customer relationship management;
Leadership Competencies:
1. Strong confidence, positive working attitude and work with passion;
2. Excellent leadership and influence;
3. Excellent stress management skill;
4. Excellent time management skill for multiple tasking;
Experience:
1. 5+ years in a software engineering or software services firm, taking a leading role in service delivery.
2. Experienced in Program Management or leading large (50+) person high-performance software development teams.
3. Experience with modern DevOps practices, Blockchain or Machine Learning would be a significant advantage.
Minimum educational level:
1. Bachelor or master in Engineering / Science / Computer Applications.
2. MBA degree is strong plus.
