职位描述

The purpose of the IT Helpdesk role is to provide an efficient and effective 1st line support and problem solving service for internal users in order to maintain a productive working environment. The role also involves providing support to the company's regional branch offices, so some travel may be required.

Ideal Candidate
This role is ideal for a quality focussed IT Helpdesk or 1st line Technical Support enthusiast, who wishes to immerse themselves into the commercial and fast-moving dynamics of a successful and rapidly growing company.

You will install, set up and troubleshoot all aspects of user desktops, software and phone systems. Therefore you will be self-motivated, approachable and flexible. You will be enthusiastic about providing the best possible service and have the ability to multi-task and priorities IT support requests according to urgency and importance whilst remaining calm and focused.
You must have outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) with a good telephone manner and strong relationship building skills as the role involves liaison with a number of suppliers e.g. ordering hardware etc.

Previous 1st line IT support experience is desirable but not essential. The candidate should have proven problem solving ability with knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office. Understanding of networks and telecoms is also preferable. You will be dedicated to providing a first-rate service, being meticulous about detail and capable of working pro-actively and on your own initiative in carrying out your day-to-day responsibilities with limited need for supervision.

Key Responsibility Areas
Technical Support & Problem Resolution
? Use your initiative and technical knowledge to diagnose any technical support/IT problems on the desktops, laptops and phone system and provide effective resolutions or information to the user
? Pro-actively provide information and regular communication to users on the progress of outstanding support calls and provide an indication of time-scale for resolution
? When a complex issue is identified that you cannot resolve due to its wider implications, you will escalate the problem quickly to the other Production team members, or interface between the users, production, development and consumer teams to develop business-critical systems and improve any problems
? Provide hardware and software support, including the installation of new software and updates when required, across all supported sites
? Provide expertise to all users and answer any queries or requests for support or training on systems and software packages

Asset Management & Set up of New Starters
? Ordering of new PC's for starters including setup, installation and configuration of the software/hardware base on individual user needs
? Co-ordinate and physically set up computer and phone facilities for new starters, liaising with HR and other teams, to ensure that equipment is ready to use from the starters first day and that they have the correct software required for their role
? Carry out user account maintenance for the starters, leavers and role changers

Helpdesk Reporting & System Improvement
? Provide Team Leader and the Production team with regular updates on common problems encountered and identify possible longer-term solutions/improvements to reduce future problems
? Ensure that all users are kept informed of relevant changes or developments on a timely basis and that all relevant training is provided
