Function/Responsibilities
- represent The University of Western Australia in matters of student recruitment in PRC, attending education exhibitions as per the UWA International Centre’s marketing schedule, providing written reports on completion;
- visit UWA official representatives, provide detailed training on UWA courses, admissions processes, entry requirements and act as a conduit between the agent and the relevant admissions teams at UWA;
- make recommendations to the University regarding the appointment of new agents and ongoing performance of current agents;
- support visiting UWA International Centre and faculty staff, making accommodation and transportation arrangements, and accompanying staff where appropriate;
- liaise with the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (International) where appropriate, providing on-ground support for the Vice-Chancellery, including interpretation services and travelling with senior UWA staff when required;
- provide ongoing relevant market intelligence on trends and changes in the China market;
- identify new marketing opportunities for UWA and make recommendations to the University
- contribute to the North Asia marketing plan and travel schedule;
- translate promotional material and source printing resources for appropriate marketing collateral;
- other appropriate tasks as requested.
Experience and Education
- An Australian university degree or equivalent;
- Exceptional English language skills, particularly written;
- A thorough understanding of international student recruitment and/or a proven track record in services marketing;
- Detailed knowledge of the Australian and Chinese education systems;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, confident at public speaking with a genuine interest in education;
- Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, email and PowerPoint;
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills with a proven ability to set priorities and deadlines;
- The ability to work independently and also productively in a team;
- A willingness to travel extensively and regularly.
