Position Description:
We are looking for a software QA Engineer with a passion for technology, structured QA testing and test automation to ensure high quality carrier-class products. In this position the candidate will be responsible for functional tests, documentation, and implementation of automation.

Responsibilities

Design Test Cases including feature interruptions and compatibility with all components of VeEX solution. Work through manual testing to validate test strategies and then move them into automated tests
Develop test documentation, review by dev/PM/support, run tests, review release documentation, identify and run regression testing, identify feasibility and develop automaton
Analyze customer bugs, identify root causes, and follow up with corrective actions addressing test coverage gaps
Work well in a cross functional role and have good time management skills
Effectively work with distributed QA teams: on-shore and off-shore
Interact closely with the development and support team to articulate problems found and to influence the design and functionality of Vocera products
Take full QA ownership of system functionality areas, produce detailed test coverage reports. Facilitate and anchor bug scrubs with cross-functional team
Scrub new and regression features test cases for automation, work with automation team on scripts development and validation as well as develop automation scripts independently. Move automation into production.

Competencies

Strong understanding of network testing environments, layer 2 and layer 3 switching/routing equipments
Strong understanding of telecommunication network such as PDH, SDH, and OTN, etc
Experience testing in enterprise-class Windows server environment is a plus
Experience working with SQL Server is a plus
Experience with design and implementation of test automation
Knowledge of scripting languages: Perl, Python
Experience with one or more technologies: IP Telephony, SIP, RTP, HTTP, wireless networks, and ability to troubleshoot issues on a signaling level
Software development, automation frameworks design and implementation experience is a plus
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Excellent Software/system troubleshooting skills

Requirements

2+ years of experience testing of complex network applications
BS, MS or equivalent in Computer Science or related field of education
