Job Description
The Staff Product Marketing Engineer will report into the Marketing Manager of the Cypress Trackpad Business Unit. You will be joining the fast growing Trackpad module business unit within Cypress. You will be representing the world’s #1 capacitive touch supplier, Cypress Semiconductor. You will be providing leadership at the world’s largest Laptop and Consumer Electronics companies all over the world. The primary purpose of the Product Marketing Engineer is to manage the product definition process and provide technical guidance and responses during OEM product development cycles. The Staff Product Marketing Engineer will provide both internal product definitions resulting in new product launches, as well as business development in order to grow revenue, customer base, and design penetration. This role will require interface directly to Cypress’ customers. The primary responsibilities will be focused in 10 areas:
1. Direct Customer Engagement for new project / product definition and specification closure
2. Provide guidance to our customer base on technical or manufacturing related specifications
3. Documentation of proposed solution and internal communication of the external customer requirements
4. Documentation of Cypress required process / procedures directly to the customer
5. Roadmap development and product technology or feature additions to the platform base
6. Engage with project management on resource allocation and project schedule confirmation
7. Engagement with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to develop new processes or proposals for new product features / functions
8. Provide direct interface to the customer for Product or Manufacturing defect resolution and closure
9. Prepare product specific documentation, including datasheets, protocol documentation, SW release notes review, and customer specific documentation.
10. Prioritize engineering defect resolution based on customer input and severity
Required Skills
? Ability to work within a cross-functional system solution team
? Excellent Documentation skills is required
? Ability to refine and update processes that aid in efficient release or launch of our products
? Experience with Windows Software eco-system is desired
? Ability to understand customer specification requirements communicate these to Cypress engineering and manufacturing teams
? Ability to interface directly with firmware, hardware, and software design resources to get closure to customer requirements feasibility and execution
? Excellent customer-facing skills
? Technical background is desired to provide guidance to the customer throughout the product design cycle
? Fluent in English (both written and oral)
? Experience in working with overseas teams is desired
