User Experience Designer - Role Description

1Purpose
The purpose is to define the responsibilities, authorities and profile/competence of User Experience Designer.

2Application
This role description is applicable to BUSS CGC R&D.

3Responsibilities

User Research
·Lead heuristic product reviews throughout whole software development process.
·Participate in profile definition of user as well as use case development.
·Identify and propose solutions to usability issues throughout product lifecycle.
·Recommend improvements on product features.
·Convey research findings to respective product teams.
·Be responsible for outputs including User Profile, User Task Analysis, Use Scenarios, and Usability Test Report.

Interaction Design
·Lead the construction of system behavior for user interaction.
·Work closely with different stakeholders to translate business requirements into meaningful interactive experiences.
·Develop prototypes for demonstration of concepts to clients.
·Be responsible for outputs including Task Analysis Report, Lo-fi prototype, UI (interaction) spec.

UI Visual Design
·Lead creation of innovative visual design solutions for user interface problems for a unified customer experience.
·Conduct brand review.
·Provide a consistent look and feel solution across multiple platforms.
·Be responsible for outputs including Hi-Fi prototype, UI (visual) spec and HTML&CSS.

4Authorities
·Make decisions together with Product Owner on product user experience related issues.
·Make decisions on whether DoD is passed from UX perspective.

5Profile/Competence
·Solid relevant work experience on user researcher, interaction designer or UI visual designer.
·Be familiar with user-centered design process/methods and complete product prototype and interaction specifications.
·Bear strong skills on: UX theory, UX Design, Qualitative Research, Usability Testing / Evaluation, Modeling Testing, User Centered Design Process, Prototyping and Graphic Design, etc.
·Be very familiar with UX work related tools, e.g. Balsamiq, Axure, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Office, etc.
·Have good business oriented mindset and good understanding of Product Domain from business perspective.
·Excellent in written and oral English.
·Good understanding of software development life-cycle.
