Position: Linux Administrator

Location: Chengdu, China

The Role:

As part of the Liquid Capital global IT support team the role would be to configure and maintain Linux servers not only in Chengdu but also in other oversea locations of Liquid Capital.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include:

• Install, configure and maintain Linux server operating system and hardware
• Monitor servers for capacity or other problems
• Manage applications deployment, software upgrades and hardware upgrades
• Work closely with Support team/Development team in Chengdu and other regions to trouble shoot server or application issues.
• Take part in the system connectivity test, certification test etc when required.
• Research and contribute to the selection of server managing and monitoring tools.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential

• Five (or above) years working experience on UNIX and/or Linux system administration.
• Strong scripting skills, i.e. bash, perl, python, etc
• Experience with Configuration Management Tools such as Puppet/CFEngine
• Experience with provisioning tools such as Kickstart
• Experience with Infrastructure Monitoring Tools such as Zabbix/Nagios
• In-depth knowledge of RAID, filesystem, NIS/NFS, tcpdump, etc
• Very strong problem solving and troubleshooting ability
• Have basic network knowledge, ie, TCP/IP, DNS, multicast etc
• Very good English level in both written and oral
• Bachelor degree in computer science or any related majors.
• Team-player, with a personable and friendly approach
• Self-motivated and created; ability to work under time pressure

Desirable

• Knowledge of database management on Linux server
• Financial knowledge ie derivatives trading etc
• If you have worked in similar role in a trading firm/market maker that would be a plus.
