POSITION: Database Administrator

LOCATION: 上海市长宁区天山路310号5F

Description:

This is a Sybase DBA role largely responsible for providing operational database services to the organization. Some of the primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents, reviewing service related reports (e.g: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved, responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with development team to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.

Work Activities:

· Cooperates with the development team to improve the system efficiency and stability

· Formulates the strategy of database backup and contingency plan

· Sets up and implements the database synchronization between different company sites

· Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover

· Sustaining the security and integrity of data

· Build database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions

· Set up data sharing and disk partitioning

· Develop database utilities and automated reporting

· Create, test and execute data management languages

· Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements

· Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency

· Restore and recover corrupted databases

· Install and test upgrades and patches

· Implement security and encryption

· Participates in the design & implementation of the data warehouse

· Evaluate and recommend new database technologies

· Continually updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications

· Perform other relevant tasks as required

Requirements:

· A service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues

· Capable of multi-tasking and working with a variety of people

· Able to self-manage time, prioritize tasks, provide estimates of how much time is needed to complete own tasks, set own deadlines, and deliver tasks on time

· Strong experiences in Database Administration in Sybase ASE, ASA, IQ, etc

· Experiences in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc

· Experiences in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, Plan Viewer and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools

· Ability to identify and troubleshoot Sybase DB Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention

· Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication and High Availability strategies for Sybase database environments

· Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching, How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively

· Solid acquaintance with Linux server, security delegation, network protocols, storage components

· Expert experience in implementing operational automation

· Knowledge of all kinds of Sybase Server tools

· Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints)

· Documentation skills for processes and procedures

· Independent problem-solving, self-direction

· Willing to work overtime, living in Songjiang/Qingpu/Minghang district preferable

· Good written, spoken English is an advantage
