1.Definition
The product engineer can be working with Copper Cable Assemblies, Electro Mechanics or with Fiber Optic Products
2.Scope
The engineer shall provide professional support regarding all engineering questions related to the products.
The Product Engineer should be the driver of the introduction or implementation of new products (NPI).
The engineer shall provide professional support to primarily the manufacturing, flow control departments and sourcing departments.
The Product Engineer should continuously find ways of improving and optimizing the manufacturing process.

4.Roles/Responsibilities
To introduce new products in the company manufacturing in accordance with NPI process
Assume Product Administration responsibilities in the Materials Planning/Business Administration (Scala) system.
Support sourcing function as resource and competence in finding alternative solutions and suppliers for the manufactured products and needed components.
Support flow control department for quotation purpose.
Perform failure analysis regarding customer claims and production failures if and when found necessary.
Assist with technical input when sourcing for measurement equipment, machinery and tools.
Evaluate manufacturing equipment and new machinery for new production/new products.
Develop fixtures and tools (including test fixtures and cables) for new production/new products.
Prepare work instructions and quality control plans and revise these when necessary.
Prepare and set-up manufacturing process including test methods.
Prepare manufacturing related product documentation and reports.
Continuously look for ways to improve the manufacturing process.
5.Reporting
The Product Engineers reports to the section Manager of PIM.
6.Authorities
The Engineer has the authority to define assembly, test and packaging solutions and processes. This authority also covers the qualification of such related tools, equipment and instruments.
The Engineer also has the authority to define control criteria such as incoming inspection, test parameters and calibration control.

Qualifications
University Degree, electrical, mechanical, physics or electronics engineer or degree in computer science can also be working experience in cable assembly manufacturing or mechanical assembly
2 years working experience
Good in English both in writing and orally
Team worker with personal drive and motivation to win
Good interpersonal skills
