GENERAL SUMMARY:
A business analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. The business analyst understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
The business analyst (senior) performs exemplary work in ones domain. The business analyst (senior) regularly coaches employees and provides project-level and possibly company-wide leadership. The business analyst (senior) is recognized as a major resource in the knowledge area. Business analyst (senior) usually has 4+ years of experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Duty 1 – Project Responsibilities – 80%
Conduct Enterprise Analysis to capture the necessary view of the business to provide context to requirements and functional design work for a given initiative and/or for long term planning.
Conduct Requirement Planning and Management to ensure the success of the requirements process and requirements deliverables.
Conduct Requirement Elicit and ensure that the requirements, as the foundation for the solution to the business needs, be complete, clear, correct, and consistent.
- Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs, ability of quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of client's organization and industry;
- Detailed problem analysis and accurate definition of the criteria required for solution design
- Investigation of competitor products
Conduct Requirement Analysis and Documentation to define and describe the characteristics of an acceptable solution to a business problem, so that the project team has a clear understanding of how to design and implement it.
- Definition of scope, and high level analysis that can be used for the purpose of estimation and planning;
- Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution;
- Authoring and maintenance of requirements documentation and other reference materials; Authoring and maintenance of user training documentation and user manuals for systems;
- Business process reengineering;
Requirement Communication to present communicates, verify, and gain approval of the requirements from the stakeholders and implementers of the project.
- Assists in the facilitation of team and client meetings;
- Requirement training
- Working as liaisons and coordinator between project stakeholders and IT person to meet user’s needs.
Conduct Solution Assessment and Validation to ensure that the solution meets the stakeholder objectives, is thoroughly tested, and is implemented smoothly and assesses project success after implementation.
- Analysis and design of testing plan, testing focus and user acceptance test scripts/scenario;
- Change request management
- Fault analysis and defect tracking
2. Duty 2 – Team Responsibilities - 10%
Responsible for the following tasks:
- Act as the subject matter expert of assigned business domain, methodology and technology
- Take technical leadership from BA prospective to improve the overall efficiency and quality
- Manages resources in accordance with project schedule to ensure consistently delivering of high-quality services to our clients;
- Develop periodical status report
- Host periodical team meeting
- Maintain project binder (BA part)
- Participate in the change control board
- Collect and report project metrics
3. Duty 3 –Organizational Responsibilities - 10%
- Mentors those with less experience through informal channels;
- Contribute & support for the following tasks:
- Team staffing & recruiting
- Team training program
- Continuous process and technology improvement
- Knowledge sharing and knowledge repository
- BA part of the CMMi5 certification
4. Duty 4 – Common
- Maintain high level of utilization, productivity and quality according to company standard
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Competencies: Skills, knowledge, & abilities
Functional Competencies:
- Demonstrative experience of software and systems analysis, design, construction and QA methodologies;
- Demonstrable evidence of analyzing and documenting complex business processes;
- Strong facilitating/knowledge transfer skill
- High degree of competence and insight in the utilization of software and the trend of development;
- Strong experience of business process management;
- Be familiar with requirement management and tools;
- Be familiar with UML and OOAD
- Ability to articulate and drive a vision whilst maintaining high attention to detail;
- Adopt systematic approach in problem solving and be able to solve vague, unique or unprecedented problems
- Good to have skills:
- Familiar with Agile process such as Extreme methodology
- Be familiar with CMM or CMMI is a strong plus
- Technical or business domain knowledge related to the job is a strong plus
- Project management skill is a plus +
- Change control & management
- Good risk identification & management
- Demonstrative track record of successful customer relationship management;

- Exceptional communication skills: Written/spoken/presentation. (English)

- Minimum 4 years experience in a business focused analyst role;
