Job Title: Supplier Manufacturing Engineer (Far East)

1.) Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for providing technical support for MILA UK product introduction, routine manufacture, product changes, and close out on completion.

Working with the Quality Engineer, is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing elements of product Quality (8D) Issues are resolved in an effective and timely manner which meets customer’s expectations.

Lead communication between MILA and vendors during pre-production phase of new product introduction (NPI).

Responsible for leading and coordinating pre-production phase sign off and validating all manufacturing processes including manufacturing Process control plans.

In-conjunction with the QC Engineer lead periodic vendor audits against agreed Vendor improvement Plans including production control plans.

With QC Engineer undertake audits of potential new vendors and assist vendors in order to achieve desired outcome.

To ensure the manufacturing processes developed with vendors provide best practice in terms of product quality, reliability, efficiency and cost.

To ensure the manufacturing processes developed with manufacturing vendors provide best practice in terms of capability and repeatability.

Provide support to manufacturing vendors in troubleshooting, product improvement initiatives, and resolution of any outstanding technical/manufacturing issues and the development of new manufacturing techniques.

To ensure all production Tooling, jigs, fixtures and assembly machinery is of suitable quality, construction and is maintenance to ensure right first time on Quality and delivery

Drive down cost through vendor development and lean implementation.

To ensure suppliers adhere to the terms of the Mila Tooling Agreement.

Maintain vendor tooling audits.


2.) Qualifications

Degree Educated or Higher Technical in Manufacturing/Production Engineering

3.) Experience

Must have hands on and a proven track record of manufacturing engineering experience, in high volume manufacturing ideally including die casting, injection moulding and stamping.

Have a fluent knowledge of materials including Stainless steel, Zinc and Plastic and be familiar with surface treatments in terms of powder coating, plating etc.

An awareness of Lean Manufacturing Techniques, Process Control, Quality Tools and Health & Safety

4.) Skills

Computer literate
Communicate in English, both written and oral
Basic CAD skills, 2D AutoCAD or 3D SolidWorks
Project management
Auditing

5.) Personal Qualities

Proactive, self motivated able to work under own initiative.
Confident to communicate at all levels within the function.
Display leadership skills, and be confident to work in multi-discipline team environments.
