JOB SUMMARY:
The National Commercial Lead will lead the team to drive sales growth and foster customer loyalty to IDEXX products and services including IDEXX diagnostic equipment and in-clinic test kits. Develop and manage the sales team through excellent recruiting, performance management, and ongoing coaching and training. Deliver accurate sales forecasts and achieve sales objectives. Establish the strategic sales direction while providing feedback from the market.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop business strategy and consistently motivates teams to achieve ambitious monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals.
Supervise, coach and motivate sales direct reports to maximize sales effectiveness and territory potential. Sets appropriate objectives, proposes yearly commission plans and implements, provides insights to update objectives and make sure the Sales team is incentivized most effectively & in line with our strategy, deliver best service to our customers.
Build strong teams & continues developing area managers. Engages and retains talents. Maintain development plans for everyone to set clear career expectations. Continuously asess talents vs. evolving market situation and reach out early to secure help from other parts of the organization to secure talent development
Build strong relationship with customers and leverage internal resources (Marketing, Technical Support, Instrument Service function and Education team) to deliver the committed service level to customers.
Build a sales team culture that fosters cooperation, best practice sharing, sales innovation and strong individual commitment to sales excellence.
Shows interpersonal savvy and builds relationship at varies level: with other commercial leaders in other regions, with Mktng & Medical, Sales Training, etc).
Develop solid relationship with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), universities, organizations and leading veterinary practices to promote IDEXX products and services.
Manages the distribution network, implements the distribution strategy in the country. Leads business reviews according to the plans and makes sure KPIs and targets are on tracks. Alerts on any issue during the roll-out, proposes appropriate solutions.
Develop and support sales processes to improve productivity and ensure that goals are met.
Work with Training & Education team to Implement and improve value-added education, coaching, and use of sales force automation tools to continuously enhance the sales productivity, while building and maintaining IDEXX’s customer and account database.
Analyze the characteristics and trends of the local market and help define customer needs for new or modified products and services.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor degree with studies in Health Care. Veterinarian is a plus. MBA is a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 8 years Sales experience with at least 5 years in people management role.
National territory management & leader of leaders experience required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Applies comprehensive knowledge of commercial skills, acts with independence and provides guidance and training to others: strategic intent, action selling, pipeline management, forecasting, KOL/KAM management, customer management, market awareness. Experience of commercial leader in multiple markets or in multinational compagnies. Plus: international experience.
Demonstrated track record of outstanding sales achievement over several years in medically related products. Ideally within the veterinary industry. Instrument sales experience a definite plus.
Successful sales management experience.
Ability to work collaboratively in matrix environment.
Financial acumen; ability to assess and evaluate implications of quarterly/annual goals attainment, pricing, programs, equipment financing and customer financial needs.
Good command of Microsoft Office, CRM systems and systems in general (Concur, etc)
Excellent customer service and business relationship-building skills required.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Demonstrated written and presentation skills.
Maturity, flexibility and responsiveness to employee/subordinate needs or concerns.
Integrity, keeping commitments to employees, customers.
Drive, initiative and passion for business excellence.
Fluent in English
Working experience in animal health companies, medical instruments/equipment companies (including human), pharmaceutical companies will be a plus
