As a R&D Project Manager, you will be part of the Robotics and Motion (RM) Division and Drives (BU) Business unit, based in Beijing. ABB is the World leader in Robotics and Motion (RM) division offering a wide range of products and services including drives, motors, generators and robots. Key applications include energy conversion, actuation, automation, standardized manufacturing cells for applications such as machine tending, welding, cutting, painting, finishing, palletizing and packing, and engineered systems for the automotive industry.

You will lead product development projects to meet market requirements by using industrial standards and ABB proprietary techniques and processes. Perform various applications engineering duties requiring the exercise of experienced judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices. Pursue initiatives to improve product quality.

? Lead complex projects and coordinate work of cross-functional project teams within a global organization.
? Responsible for project execution with the support of project team and take responsibility for successful execution/delivery of assigned project(s) on-time, within budget, with on- quality & safety framework of ABB.
? Motivate and support internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones.
? Manage interdependencies between cross-functional workstreams in order to realize specified deliverables and benefits.
? Ensure appropriate requirements within the projects by partnering with relevant functions or other locations.
? Ensure understanding of customer value in the projects and acts to ensure customer satisfaction and manage expectations.
? Ensure transparency around change requests, unforeseen events and identified risks and ensure that they are properly managed and communicated. Ensure that all opportunities are captured and acted upon.
? Establish the working relationship with global Product group and Business Unit to ensure the common process, standard is followed and improve development processes.
? Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business.

? Master’s Degree or similar with a solid technical background like (EE, ME or SW) that fits to a R&D organization.
? 3+ years of experience with Project Management of Product Development projects.
? Good skills in the appropriate project management methods (project planning, project tracking, project cost management, risk- and opportunity analysis, project reporting, stakeholder management etc.)
? Experience and knowledge on Lean/agile product development.
? Great team management skills.
? Able to gather commitments from different functional managers and to align them with the project needs.
? Good at plan and organize the work together with the project team including very close communication and collaboration.
? Stress resistant with lots of flexibility and creativity.
? Good communication skills.
