Summary for this position:
Supplier quality and performance is critically important to the success of Apothecary Products. The Sourcing Engineer leads and coordinates all vendor/supplier quality processes, supplier audits, supplier development, corrective actions, and training to meet the Company’s customer and quality management system requirements. The Sourcing Engineer provides support to the CCLC project teams for RFQ’s, prototype development, sample requests, and coordinating activities between Category Sourcing and Suppliers as needed. The Sourcing Engineer will develop strong working relationships with key suppliers to drive improvements within the Supplier Quality processes and continual improvement of Supplier Performance metrics.
Responsibilities:
? Lead the Supplier Audit process development, scheduling, tracking, and reporting of Audit performance. This includes coordinating with third parties and leading appointed in-country agents in the successful completion of audits and inspections.
? Maintain a working knowledge of customer audit requirements and how these apply to the company’s vendors and suppliers.
? Analyze & Track Supplier Quality Performance Data. This position is responsible for the early escalation of vendor/supplier issues that can adversely affect business performance or relationships with customers.
? Lead the Supplier Training, Quality, and Supplier Development activities to drive Supplier performance improvements, minimize quality risk, and ensure regulatory compliance.
? Partner with the Sourcing Managers to develop and execute negotiation strategies, RFQ’s, and Cost Reduction projects.
? Provide technical support to ensure Suppliers understand and are able to meet product specifications. This may include identifying where product specifications need further clarification or definition.
? Interface with Suppliers, Strategic Sourcing, Quality, RD&E, and Regulatory Compliance in support of CCLC process.
? Conduct Assessments of New Supplier Candidates and assist in Supplier qualification.
? As requested, work with R&D Engineering and Quality team to lead investigation of product complaints, NCM’s, or CAPA’s to determine root cause and effective implementation of Corrective Actions.
? Assess, evaluate and prepare gap analyses and risk assessments on existing suppliers to identify and prioritize supplier development efforts.
? Ability to establish collaborative working relationships cross-functionally internally as well as with a diverse / global supply base.
? Establish strong relationships with Key Suppliers.
? Collaborate with internal supply chain planning Strategic Sourcing team on other issues or tasks with aims to drive for continuous enhancement of supply chain efficiency and productivity
? Be a key leader in identifying and managing Cost Reduction opportunities for new and existing products, optimize cost savings initiatives, and meet Corporate Cost Reduction goals.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in engineering related discipline required.
? Three to Five (3 – 5) years of experience
? Outstanding knowledge and experience with injection molding, blow molding processes including secondary assembly, print, and packaging of consumer goods.
? Proficiency in reading and understanding engineering drawings and engineering/quality documents.
? Required knowledge and experience in QMS certification of ISO9001, QS9000. Knowledge and experience with ISO13485, FDA regulations, and GMP compliance preferred.
? Robust technical problem-solving skills.
? Ability to establish collaborative working relationships cross-functionally internally as well as with a diverse / global supply base.
? 6 Sigma training; Lean Manufacturing, ASQ and/or APICS certification desirable.
? Provide process engineering support to Suppliers in order to facilitate a timely introduction of new product, drive quality improvements, and manufacturing efficiency. These activities include the development and validation of new processes.
? Responsible for addressing assigned CAPA activities and ensuring that Root Cause analysis is conducted and Corrective action plans are implemented to meet established timelines.
? Medical device manufacturing experience is an asset
? Formal experience with project management is helpful.
? Ability to function in a self-directed manner with a high degree of independence.
? Experience working with Asian Manufacturers required.
? Ability to travel independently both domestically and internationally (up to 30%).
