1) Create and constantly maintain a master production schedule for Sigma, based on sales order profile, monthly sales revenue target, machine capacity, efficiency and capability and related resourcing and management issues. This should have a shift by shift emphasis for the first four weeks, moving into weekly for the following 8 weeks, then monthly over a rolling 12 month horizon.
2) Create and maintain a capacity plan which monitors the work load on our machine centres, but based on reliable and accurate data from the Sigma MRP system.
3) Interface and communicate with all relevant departments to maintain 1) and 2) above
4) Publish the master schedule for all personnel to review and feedback.
5) The master schedule shall be an amalgamation of some theoretical calculation from Sigma’s routing system, as well as practical and experiential input from relevant personnel within the manufacturing process.
6) Only the master planner and the general manager shall be able to authorize changes to the master schedule, and all other employees must align their resources to the master plan.
7) The creation of the proper MPS will enable more accurate customer commitments and costs. This is a key objective of the role.
