Our client is a listed developer and fund , they now require MEP manager to join their China team.



Job description

? Manage all MEP-related project services, i.e. estimating, scheduling, finance and contract administration.

? Set up project MEP working processes and lead project MEP construction activities.

? Monitor and review contractor's work as to compliance, schedule, budget and quality.

? Review and approve work method statements proposed by contractors and suppliers.

? Review MEP construction drawings to ensure full coordination with other disciplines, and report and resolve any discrepancies with Project Team.

? Serve as liaison between MEP consultants, design team, contractors and internal counterparts.

? Depending on the project team composition at any point during the project lifecycle, provide varying amounts of support during the pre-construction and construction phases, such as:

? Setting basis of design and MEP systems requirements
? RFP/Tender package development and negotiations for design team consultants
? Contribution to budget development
? Systems studies, such as cost benefit analysis
? Design coordination from concept design through completed documents
? Design management support; such as managing consultant deliverables, implementing quality assurance/control protocols and review, design coordination, value engineering, specification review, etc.
? Developing, implementing and reviewing project specific quality assurance and control programs
? Procurement strategy and execution; bid list input and review, bidder qualification, scope review, leveling of tenders, etc.
? Project logistics, scheduling and execution strategy/planning
? Interface with property management and ensuring alignment with post- construction property management needs
? Perform site inspections during construction
? Attend project meetings during the pre-construction and construction phases
? Oversee the development and implementation of testing and commissioning of MEP systems
? Act as D&C group subject matter expert on issues related to the development and implementation of the firm's sustainability strategy and LEED initiatives
? Review contractor submittals
? Facilitate resolution of requests for information (RFIs)
? Review monthly requisitions for appropriateness and accuracy
? Review change order requests for validity and accuracy
? Manage the contractor closeout process


Requirement

? The MEP Manager must be able to perform the duties of the job, and shall meet the following qualifications:
?
? Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from accredited institution, or Construction Management, or equivalent

? Five to ten years significant related experience in MEP management capacity, with specific focus with large scale mixed-use development projects in China, worked on at least one high-end and complex development project from design to construction with an area over 100,000 sqm.

? Broad and thorough understanding of MEP systems design in commercial, residential, and site infrastructure developments.

? Experienced in project management of MEP systems installations.

? Strong project planning and management capabilities and the ability to create, implement, and monitor all construction schedules, and control systems, policies, procedures, systems and standards.

? Demonstrated understanding of the commercial and/or residential real estate construction process in China and critical path method (CPM) scheduling.

? Familiarity with local market building codes and regulations for various building design requirements including residential, commercial, service apartments and retail.

? Familiarity with requirements and procedures of MEP-related permits and approvals.

? Advanced working knowledge of energy efficient strategies pertaining to building industry and captive power generation options.

? Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization (locally and internationally), as well as within large groups of national and international consultants and contractors.

? Ability to use and has sufficient knowledge of computer software currently utilized by the Company.

? Ability to understand and communicate in English , verbally and in writing. Some exemption maybe taken for candidates with exceptional talent and skills.
