About Us
GE Healthcare is looking for talented engineers to join a new team at GE Healthcare, Respiratory and Sleep business. The team will focus on developing an innovative respiratory devices, and growing the GE Respiratory Care business presence in China. Roles will be located in the newly created GE Cheng Du Innovation Center. Partnering with the Respiratory team based in Israel, the Cheng Du team will be responsible for development of products targeted for the local Chinese critical care respiratory market.
Role Summary/Purpose
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and testing of electrical product / subsystem. An Electrical Engineer applies the practical application of engineering principals, achieves expertise in Electrical Engineering, and investigates new techniques as part of a team.
Essential Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to): • Designing at least one of the following electrical components and interconnects: digital/analog board design, Power, Display, Battery, etc. • Engaging in all phases of new product development, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support • Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives in the modality product line • Ensuring reliability, performance and delivery through supplier relationships • Influencing cross-functional teams to implement quality actions. • Delivering improvements to customer focused metrics. • Validating product sub-system reliability performance. • Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible
Qualifications/Requirements
1. BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. 2. 3-5 years’ experience in electronics design. 3. Experience with Orcad and/or Allegro ECAD tools 4. Strong written and verbal (English) communication skills 5. Must be open to a 6-12 month assignment in Israel for product training and collaboration.
Desired Characteristics
1. Masters degree in Electrical Engineering 2. Previous experience within GE. 3. Previous experience in the medical device industry. 4. Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities 5. Experience with LCD and Touch panel integration. Knowledge of Touch technologies. 6. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task 7. Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills 8. Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets 9. Global project experience 10. EMC compatible design/solution experience 11. Design for reliability experience 12. Design for Cost experience 13. Circuit design and simulation tool experience (e.g. PSPICE) 14. Knowledge of UL/ETL/IEC standards and how they apply to designs
